Celebrate Black History Month with Developing Artists! One of DA’s ensemble members Vicckaash Krishnan would like to highlight the contributions and impact of Tupac Shakur. ✊🏾🎤🎭
Vick says “Tupac Shakur was more than a rapper, he was an artist in every form of the word. He wove stories with his music, and spoke loudly for the rights of the black community, as well as pushing for equal rights for all, through social justice. Pac was also a pioneer of hip hop, expanding the genre through the west coast. Several famous artists have been influenced by 2pac’s work, including the great Kendrick Lamar, who once spoke the passion of Tupac’s lyricism, “Tupac inspired me just the simple way of how he put his words together,” Lamar said. “You really felt them, you felt the passion behind them. They meant something, not only to him, but when you heard it, you actually got a full experience rather than just words. You actually felt his words.” With all that being acknowledged, it is impossible to not recognize him as an icon and revolutionary in the black community.”
One thing our ensemble members love to do is amplify the voices of those who fight for social change and push boundaries just like us! 📢
