The Empire City Garrison, or ECG, is the New York division of The 501st Legion, the world's definitive Star Wars costuming organization. One of the original garrisons in a 15,000 member organization that spans across the United States and to nearly 50 countries around the world, ECG covers all of New York City, Long Island, and the five boroughs, enforcing the Empire's rule and spreading the magic of Star Wars through appearances at charity events supporting organizations like the Make-A-Wish, Cerebral Palsy Association, Maria Fareri Children's Hospital, Stony Brook Children’s Hospital, Special Olympics, Walk Now For Autism, St. Vincent's Hospital and others.

September is Su***de Prevention Month. But today is especially for veterans. Approximately 22 veterans commit su***de every day for reasons such as PTSD and survivor’s guilt.

The VA’s National Center for PTSD and Disabled Veterans National Foundation offer free resources where Veterans, their families, and friends can access trained crisis responders, therapists, and PTSD treatment programs 24/7. The National Center for PTSD also has information on specialty care for woman veterans and offers self-help and coping strategies. Follow the links below to learn more.

We learned a lot in the aftermath of the attack on 9/11. But most importantly, we learned that community only has one requirement - love. It doesn’t look or sound a certain way, it isn’t isolated to a singular faith. It’s about how humans come together to support each other.
