Last week, each Codify member took over Instagram for one day to help fundraise for a QTBIPOC (Q***r, Trans, Black, Indigenous, People of Color) organization of their choice. We are overjoyed to share that we and our community raised $9,398 collectively for the Okra Project, F2L Relief Fund, Emergency Relief Fund, FIERCE, and Snap4Freedom. We are FLOORED by the outpouring of support. We have even had commitments of recurring donations! Thank you to everyone who has already donated.

We are only $602 away from making it to $10,000 and we would love to continue supporting these efforts. Can you help us make it to ? In addition to individual gifts, we encourage you to consider a recurring donation of any amount over time. After all, the revolution is a marathon not a sprint. Click on the blog post to donate to the cause of your choice. Be sure to let us know the amount of your donation so we can ensure we meet our

goal!

Dear Codify community,  Happy Juneteenth! Today we commemorate the liberation of Black folx who were enslaved in the U.S. On June 19, 1865, Union army General Gordon Granger announced federal orders to free enslaved Black people in Galveston, Texas—a full two and a half years after the Ema

I’ve been battling with my mental health for a long fu***ng time.

What I thought would be a mostly linear journey (albeit with some jerky hairpins), really turned out to be more of an upward spiral. I come back to certain issues to expose yet another layer, yet another layer... healing has become a beautiful unraveling.

I dive into writing for an outlet. In 2017 I transformed my journal scribbles into a zine called “searching for a home that holds all of me”, filled with prose poetry and text illustrations. This would be the first in my series on

NB POC and white folks: I encourage you to continue matching my $50 donation to if you have the means. In the PayPal memo, write Nina Pop or Tony McDade Fund so the $$ goes to connecting Black Trans folks with Black therapists.

Black folks: I love y’all/us something fierce. Let’s unravel the world to create anew.

In social worker Micalah Webster’s words “I’ve seen a lot on my timeline and all over the internet resources for non-Black POC and white folks looking to learn, act, and support during this time. However, when I wanted to find resources for my own healing there was a noticeable gap. I wanted to make something for my family, friends, and colleagues that are hurting and looking for support too”

Checkout Micalah’s tinyurl.com/ResourcesForBlackHealing for self care/healing strategies, how to cope with racial stressors and many mental health resources.

Hey y’all! .sharina here and I’ll be taking over the account today to share much needed resources on wellness for Black folks and where you can donate to support such efforts. Stay tune!

Back in 2015 I was thrilled to model for fellow Codify member We Are Bulletproof campaign. In his words ““We are Bullet Proof” is a project I started in 2015 after the murder of all the many many Black Souls at the hands of the police. We are still angry. We are still protesting. We are still strong. All Black Lives Still Matter.”
