Greenpeace NYC

Greenpeace NYC OUR Goal- to help the environment but also to subtly temper and disrupt the outrageous, greedy, insa Let’s define this a little bit more.

We are a frontline and Campaign volunteer group for one of the worlds top non profit environmental activist networks. Frontline: this is a term used for the fundraisers, the strong, amazing people who take on the streets of New York City to raise money for the global environmental group to survive, inform, create a wave of change, and thrive. Our organization does not and will not take money from

political organization nor will they take money from companies; after all, you can’t clean the sheets, if you’re in bed with your boss as it were. We stay fiscally clean and independent so as to keep a pure voice. Campaign: These are Volunteers and “Frontliners” who come in on their own time to brain storm on ideas to create the change needed to save this beautiful planet. We bring the message out the public, in fun and interesting ways. We not only bring awareness out to the community, but also, to the companies who are using unsafe, irresponsible, hazardous tactics to save a dollar. We ask the community to stand with us to make this change. The companies will not stop until the consumer demands it. We hold events to bring these campaigns into the lime light, and pressure these companies to do the correct and moral choices by this planet, and all of it’s inhabitants.

POLICYHOLDERS OF LIBERTY MUTUAL INSURANCE, PLEASE READ:

Liberty Mutual Insurance currently uses the payments and revenue gathered from us, their policyholders, to invest in fossil fuels. They also provide coverage for infrastructure projects such as tar sands oil pipelines. As an insurance company, they exist to PROTECT the public from risk...but insuring the continued extraction, transport, and burning of fossil fuels contributes to Climate Change, a HUGE RISK for the public.

However, if companies like Liberty Mutual step us as leaders, and divest from these dirty forms of energy, the projects simply cannot get built. No pipeline insurance? No pipeline. Y'all's action is a major part of that; in fact, it is probably the most important variable.

IF ANYONE IS A LIBERTY MUTUAL POLICYHOLDER, please reach out to me, to learn ways we can pressure them to stop funding fossil fuels and help us build a greener future!

I will be posting a link in the comments for you to get involved with.

Governments and fossil fuel companies MUST BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE for the role they have played, and continue to take on, in this climate crisis.❗️Let’s treat it as such: an emergency...and move swiftly and efficiently toward renewable energy ⏳☀️🌊

We took a trip to today to have a conversation with management about all the unnecessary plastic packaging in their stores❗️We want them to ditch any and all unnecessary plastics, especially single-use AND end the Hefty EnergyBag Program, which encourages customers to return plastics to them for “recycling.” Unfortunately, Target then BURNS 🔥 that plastic! This contributes to greenhouse gas emissions and releases toxins into our air 👿 As their very own consumers, we’re calling on them to BE BETTER 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 @ Target Manhattan Herald Square

Come to our volunteer meeting this week!!!

In the face of climate change and environmental catastrophe, it is becoming more and more evident the overwhelming role that corporations played in the creation of this crisis, and the responsibility these corporate sectors now have in solving it. Nonetheless, we as individuals need to do our share....

Tomorrow!!!
Because 50 years ago, ExxonMobil executives were made aware by company scientists of the devastating impacts that burning fossil fuels would have on our climate. The choice Exxon faced was crystal clear: keep fossil fuels in the ground, or keep profiting in the short term at the expense of people and the planet. Exxon chose the latter — and then did everything possible to bury the truth about climate change from the public. It’s time for Exxon to pay for their lies and deception.
On Tuesday, October 22nd, New York State Attorney General Tish James will take Exxon to court for shareholder fraud. This is an important first step towards bolder measures to hold the fossil fuel industry financially liable for the damage they've done. Join the rally in support!!!

Join us next Tuesday to support Tish James’ suit against Exxon and demand accountability from Big Polluters rooted in racial, gender, and economic justice. 11:45 am: Arrive People begin arriving to Foley Square 12:10 pm: Start 1:00pm: End (Can begin walking into courthouse if people want to observ...
