brought to you by The Plumbers Local 1 Women's Committee.

Today, we are highlighting Anita Palazzo of UA Local 638.
Anita is a Journeyman Steamfitter, Finance Board Member, AFL-CIO Delegate, and UA Convention Delegate. She has been a member since 2002.

"Being a union sister means being part of a larger family that has each other's backs. It's about standing together for fair wages, safe working conditions, and respect on the job. It's a shared sense of power, knowing you're not alone, and that together, your voice is amplified. So, it's pride, solidarity, and always pushing for a better future —for all of us.”

Women like Anita continue to strengthen our trades and carry forward the legacy of union sisters who show up, put in the work, and lift one another up.

It’s Hug a Plumber Day… so go show some appreciation (consensually 😂)
Behind every working system is a skilled plumber putting in the work to keep things running right.
We keep the water flowing, the systems working, and the standards high.
A little appreciation goes a long way. 💪🔧

Rain or shine, we show up. 💪🌧️

Today at Croton Gorge Park, our volunteers came together in less-than-ideal conditions and got to work. Despite the rain, we collected a significant amount of trash and made a meaningful impact in restoring the park for the community.

This is what union values look like in action—service, solidarity, and pride in the work we do both on and off the jobsite.

With sincere appreciation to our volunteers:
Deborah Rivera, Julie Zakowski, Myriam Giraldo, Christine Kulcsar, Jazmin Perez, Leo Chapero, Olivia Walsh, Hassan Powell, Jackson Powell, Shira Levine & her daughters Abigail Levine & Maeve Levine.

Your time, effort, and commitment did not go unnoticed. Thank you for representing the very best of our union.

In Solidarity and Sisterhood,
Plumbers Local 1 Women’s Committee
