Today, we ask our union family to stand with one of our sisters.

CrisTina BariMc has spent decades advocating for women in the building trades. Through mentorship, leadership, and unwavering support, she has helped countless tradeswomen find their place, build confidence, and succeed in careers where women have historically been underrepresented. Her impact reaches far beyond her own local, touching the lives of sisters across the country.

Following a serious motorcycle accident, Cristina now faces a long road to recovery. As tradeswomen, we know that sisterhood is more than a word—it's showing up for one another when it matters most.

If you are able, please consider donating to her fundraiser or sharing it within your networks. Every contribution, every share, and every message of support helps remind Cristina that she is not walking this journey alone.

The Plumbers Local 1 Women's Committee sends Cristina and her family our love, strength, and prayers for a full recovery. An injury to one is an injury to all. 💙

Cristina Barillas-McEntee is more than a friend, she is our union sister. Acro… NYC TRADESWOMEN MEET-UP NYC needs your support for Cristina’s road to recovery

❤️🐾 THANK YOU, LOCAL 1! 🐾❤️

The Plumbers Local 1 Women's Committee would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to every member, officer, friend, and family member who supported our Animal Shelter Donation Drive.

Together, we donated over $2,200 worth of food, supplies, and monetary contributions to support the animals at Second Chance Rescue.

When we arrived with the donations, the shelter staff were incredibly grateful and genuinely surprised by the amount we were able to provide. They welcomed us into their facility, showed us around, introduced us to many of the animals in their care, and took the time to answer our questions about the important work they do every day.

Seeing firsthand the love, dedication, and care that goes into rescuing and rehabilitating these animals made this experience even more meaningful. The visit was a powerful reminder that every donation, no matter the size, helps provide comfort, care, and a second chance for animals in need.

This drive was a true team effort, and it would not have been possible without the generosity of our Local 1 family.

Thank you for helping us turn compassion into action.

❤️ The Plumbers Local 1 Women's Committee
