Celebrate this milestone on "Our Nation's River" by joining this guided, family-friendly paddling & camping trip happening June 20-26. The Delaware River Sojourn is a guided paddling trip on the wild and scenic Delaware River, combining canoeing/kayaking, camping and educational programming. The Sojourn is normally held in June to celebrate National Rivers Month. It is geared for families and indi

viduals of all ages and skill levels. Participants can sign up for the whole event or for the section(s) or day(s) of their choice. By getting people out on the river and experiencing it first-hand, the Sojourn helps connect people with their local waterways and encourages stewardship of these shared resources. We hope that many will consider taking part in this fun, ultimate "staycation," which celebrates family, friends and the great outdoors! Come out and join us for our 28th annual adventure paddling the Delaware!

Interested in joining the 2026 Delaware River Sojourn, taking place June 20-26, but have not registered yet? It's not too late!

The Delaware River Sojourn, a guided paddling and camping adventure on the Delaware River, combines on-water experiences and educational opportunities. Paddle equipment is provided, and river guides teach basic instruction and keep paddlers safe on the water. Participants may sign up for the entire trip or for the day(s) of their choice.

This year's itinerary includes three days in the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River, a day in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area and two days paddling the Lower Delaware Wild and Scenic River, including a chance to paddle the site of George Washington's historic crossing. The trip will culminate with a paddle on the river's tidewaters near northeast Philadelphia.

Happy Earth Week and TGIF!

Registration for the 2026 Delaware River Sojourn: Our Nation’s River is officially OPEN!

Happening June 20-26, this year’s Sojourn will feature three days of paddling in the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River, one day in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, two days in the Lower Delaware Wild and Scenic River and one day in the tidewaters. Paddles range from 8 – 13 miles, with a total of nearly 75 river miles paddled in seven days.

The Sojourn is geared for folks of all ages and experience levels. Folks can register for the entire trip or for the day(s) of their choice. Paddling equipment, river safety guides, meals, daily shuttling, camping locations and educational programming are all included in the daily fee.

• Sunday, June 21: Skinners Falls (N.Y.) to Ten Mile River Access (N.Y.); 11.5 miles; camp at Ten Mile River

• Monday, June 22: Pond Eddy (N.Y.) to Airport Park (Matamoras, Pa.); 13 miles; camp at Worthington State Forest, N.J.

After this winter (and we're not even out of February yet), who's ready for June? We are dotting the i's and crossing the t's on our 2026 itinerary - please stay tuned! Registration will open in April.

Check this out! Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources just announced the nominees for the 2026 Pennsylvania River of the Year. The Delaware River won this year, and for next year, a Delaware tributary is in the running: the Lower Schuylkill River!
