Co-founded in 2007 by Russell Simmons and leaders in the diamond and jewelry industries, the Diamond Empowerment Fund™ (D.E.F.) is a non-profit global organization whose mission is to support transformative initiatives in diamond communities throughout the world. believes that education is a key component to sustainable development, which in turn is essential to empower individuals, communities, a

nd society toward future economic prosperity, stability and advancement. Today, over two thousand college age students in Africa have received financial assistance or have been awarded scholarships as a result of the generous support D.E.F has received from the diamond and jewelry industry. Those students, since graduated, have returned home to support their families and create opportunities in their communities. This is what D.E.F refers to as a ‘Diamonds Do Good’ impact.
