It's an old question, but one every generation inherits.

On Thursday, August 6, join Humanities New York and Queens Public Library for Can We Disagree Without Falling Apart?, the first conversation in The Future of Democracy: Conflict, Disagreement, and Civic Life.

Beginning with Robert Frost's Mending Wall, we'll explore what holds communities together when people disagree, and whether boundaries always separate as much as they protect.

Brazil and Haiti meet for a World Cup match tonight at 8:30 p.m. ET. Today is Juneteenth, a day that commemorates emancipation and celebrates Black freedom in the United States.

Tonight, The Rockwell Museum is partnering with HNY and Hayden Haynes (Seneca Nation, Deer Clan) on a Community Conversation that will highlight Indigenous Perspectives connected to the idea of “revolution.”

The conversation will focus on the juxtaposition of two works on view, offering a framework for exploring narratives of land, history, and identity, and the ongoing impacts of displacement and dispossession experienced by Native peoples.
