Yiddish Philharmonic Chorus Yiddish culture through Yiddish song since 1923! Hire us! Past performances include Carnegie Hall, Ground Zero, Shea Stadium, West Point, and Symphony Space.

Founded in 1923 (101 years young!) The Yiddish Philharmonic Chorus is a multigenerational ensemble, all in love with singing and committed to promoting Yiddish language and culture through performance of folk songs, theater works, labor anthems, holiday standards, and modern pieces in translation. We can offer just a few songs or a longer set, with a small group of singers or the full chorus; email us to discuss your vision: [email protected]. The YPC shares the rich legacy of Yiddish song by performing for old and young of all faiths at community centers, schools and places of worship throughout the tristate area, as well as a regular slot at the North American Jewish Choral Festival. Our next concert at Merkin Hall is coming up on September 15th, 2024, and will be an encore performance of our program 'From Varshe and Vilne to Vashington Heights' - an exploration of Jewish immigration. ...and for our 2026 act, The Yiddish Philharmonic Chorus presents 'With Poetry and Justice for All', a celebration of both the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, and the birthdays of Yiddish poets Avrom Reisen and Itzik Manger.

The set list includes Yiddish renditions of 'This Land is Your Land' by Woody Guthrie, 'America' by Neil Diamond, the classics 'Borekh ate' and 'Yidl mitn fidl', and of course 'Happy Birthday' (please feel free to take this as a personal serenade if your birthday is June 21st)
