Founded in 1923 (101 years young!) The Yiddish Philharmonic Chorus is a multigenerational ensemble, all in love with singing and committed to promoting Yiddish language and culture through performance of folk songs, theater works, labor anthems, holiday standards, and modern pieces in translation. The YPC shares the rich legacy of Yiddish song by performing for old and young of all faiths at community centers, schools and places of worship throughout the tristate area, as well as a regular slot at the North American Jewish Choral Festival. Our next concert at Merkin Hall is coming up on September 15th, 2024, and will be an encore performance of our program 'From Varshe and Vilne to Vashington Heights' - an exploration of Jewish immigration.
