The New York City Police Foundation's mission is to provide resources for the NYPD to innovate and improve the quality of its services; build bridges with the community; and make NYC a safer place to live, work, and visit. For fifty years, the New York City Police Foundation has helped to advance programs to prevent violent crime, thwart terrorism, and safeguard the people of our city; strengthen

relationships between the NYPD and community members to improve public safety through Neighborhood Policing; engage youth across the five boroughs through leadership training and career development; enhance training and wellness across the NYPD; and pilot new technologies, and provide resources and services to protect the public and the police.

This year’s Annual SYEP Career Day brought young New Yorkers to the Detective Steven D. McDonald Police Academy for a day of career exploration, hands-on learning, and meaningful connections.
