Thank you to all our alumni who have shared stories about their ESC experience and where it has taken them since. We are grateful for the ways you continue to live out ESC's values in your lives and work.

As our academic year programs begin a year of learning and growth, and calendar year Corps members near the end of their service experience, alumni had some words of wisdom to share. May they be a blessing to our 2026 Corps members in the year ahead!

Applications for Plainsong Farm in Rockford, Michigan are now open! At Plainsong, people use their bodies to tend the land, nourish their neighbors, and ground themselves in hope and life-giving rhythms. This fellowship program is designed for young adults aged 21-32, offering immersive experiences and education in small-scale regenerative agriculture, spiritual practice, and communal living.

This ten-month fellowship begins in January 2027. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until all positions are filled.

For our final summer alumni spotlight, meet the Rev. Dan Bell, who served from 2013-2015 in Life Together in the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts before going on to serve as a priest in that diocese. Dan reflects on how his service years helped him step outside his comfort zone and deepen his understanding of justice. We love learning more about our ESC alumni and where life has taken them since their service year! This week, meet Jalani Traxler. Jalani served with The Road in Atlanta, in The Diocese of Atlanta, in the 2015-2016 program year and has continue to live in the area ever since.

Though applications for all 2026 ESC programs have closed, we are now accepting early season 2027 applications for Plainsong Farm in Rockford, Michigan! With a start date in January, this service opportunity is perfect for December graduates and others looking for a calendar year experience.

Plainsong fellows serve in the Rogue River Watershed, caring for the land, growing food for neighbors, and walking alongside area churches discerning stewardship of their land and buildings for the common good. Fellowships begin in January and last throughout the growing season, to October 31. Fellows cultivate spiritual practices to ground themselves in hope and life-giving rhythms, while living together in community.

Plainsong fellow Erin, who served in both 2025 and 2026, says about the experience, "When I look back over the past ten months at Plainsong, the words of an embodied prayer I was taught at the farm come to mind—Julian of Norwich's Body Prayer: await, allow, accept, attend. This year not only did I learn the words and postures of this prayer, but I was radically given the space and structure to embed these four movements into my daily life."

Our summer alumni spotlights continue with Olivia Stanley, who served with Life Together in the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts and is now pursuing a PhD in social work while serving in active lay roles with the Episcopal Diocese of Lexington.
