Did you know?
Health organizations and insurance companies spend massive resources securing individuals' health information. I have spent my last twenty-two years observing the struggle of creating, managing, and maintaining the medical records library and its regulations at different levels of management. From this experience, I learned that these institutions' priority is not to protect your data but to protect themselves against lawsuits.
The last couple of years underlined a lot of misunderstandings about our health decisions and showed us that we want to live our best lives by minimizing the risk factors affecting our medical conditions. This period also made us realize that we are on our own when the system is exhausted and confused with an unfamiliar situation or chaos.
It would be nice if we could gather all of our medical information in one reliable resource we could reach at any time. Unfortunately, we do not have a "Sing Point Of Truth," aka. SPOT for our health records; we can call this our "soft spot." We unintentionally divide all our medical information between different doctor's offices, hospital systems, pharmacies, labs, insurance companies, or other health providers. The issue is how we plan to consolidate this information and own it like we are securing all our assets in a safe box? Because, let's face it, no one else will do it for you. When the world faces a pandemic or an unexpected situation, such as a natural event or a war, uncertainty takes over. Not only do we lose all connection to our health information, but we also cannot reach them in case of an emergency.
Let's ask ourselves;
Whose life is in danger during these uncertain times?
Is it logical to put ourselves in a risky situation when the world faces another situation as such?
Is it sensible to take our chances in case of an emergency?
Is it fair to put the health professional in a position where they must operate under these unknown circumstances?
Is there a way to create our medical library and store our records, images, consultations, and medical history on one platform?
Is it possible to securely share our information with our health provider, primary physician, or security groups we have created?
Can we use a platform to communicate with our health provider in writing and initiate a virtual doctor's visit (telemedicine) over a secure peer-to-peer video session?
Is there a platform where we can;
Use it free of charge?
Reach any provider or alternative health solutions worldwide?
Get the latest information on innovations or global health information?
Keep track of the health records of our loved ones?
Gain access without a paid subscription?
We refuse the idea of paying anything to create and maintain our health records and library or benefit from the services. All we should do is store them in one single spot (single point of truth) and the ability and freedom to retrieve all our information at our discretion and store them locally if necessary.
We need to create our information moat for our sakes. What if I told you there is a platform as such?
Medixportal is based on the mindset that we should help one other during these rough times and in our everyday lives.
