Episode 7: Day 8 | Adventure & Arts
Our Sankofa Youth Scholars had an unforgettable day in Ghana. We started at the Shai Hills Resource Reserve for an ATV tour where the scholars rode ATVs for the first time. We rode alongside ostriches and other wildlife and even had the chance to visit and pet a royal python.
After the reserve, we enjoyed lunch at the Volta Hotel in Akosombo with a stunning view of the Akosombo Dam and the Volta River, Africa’s largest man-made lake.
Later in the evening, we headed to Black Star Square in Accra for the Chale Wote Street Art Festival. The scholars experienced live music, vendors, horseback riding, art exhibits and so much more.
When we returned home, the youth were thrilled to see their African inspired outfits ready to try on. We will show them to you soon!

Episode 6: Day 7 | Day of Service 🌍

Our Sankofa Youth Scholars spent the day giving back in Accra, Ghana.
We began at Manna Mission Academy for a cultural exchange with students ages 14 to 17, sharing traditions, stories, and laughter across continents. Then we visited Echoing Hills Village, an orphanage where we met incredible children and joined in a service project, helping to paint a wall on their campus.

Every act of service reminded us that giving is a universal language. 💛

The characters may be AI, but the impact is very real. 🌍

Episode 4: Day 5 | Ghanaian Culture 🇬🇭✨

Our itinerary was filled with history, culture, and connection! We began at the W.E.B. Du Bois Memorial Centre for Pan-African Culture. Du Bois was a renowned scholar, author, and civil rights leader who spent his final years in Ghana advocating for Pan-African unity.

From there, we went shopping at Makola Market for kente cloth to be used for our custom African outfits. Next, we visited the Kwame Nkrumah Museum & Mausoleum. Nkrumah, Ghana’s first President, was a visionary leader in the fight for African independence and Black liberation worldwide.

We wrapped up the day at Jamrock Restaurant & Grille, enjoying delicious Jamaican cuisine — the perfect close to a meaningful day. 🌍💛
