Penta At Penta, we envision a world where everyone has equal access to mobility-restoring prosthetics, empowering them to achieve their full potential 🦿🌍 💪

Penta is a non-profit organization dedicated to addressing the issue of limb disability by sourcing and repurposing used prostheses in the United States and directly delivering these prosthetics to low-income people with disabilities around the world. We offer a transparent and streamlined model to collect used prosthesis in the U.S, ensure quality control of prosthesis, and work directly with loc

al clinics and hospitals in Vietnam to repurpose the parts for disabled patients. Unlike any service currently on the market, Penta will cover the cost of donors’ shipping, provide a digital interface for donors with regular updates on the status of their used prosthesis, and ensure the quality of the devices as well as the fitting procedure.

🧡 April is Limb Loss & Limb Difference Awareness Month 🧡

MILLIONS of people around the world lack access to the mobility they need.
At Penta, we’re working to change that. By collecting and redistributing prosthetic components, we help turn unused equipment into life-changing mobility for people across the globe. 🌍🦿

This month, we’re inviting you to be part of that impact.

Your support helps us get more components into the hands of clinicians, reach more patients, and restore mobility, independence, and opportunity.

Last week, we had the privilege of attending the National Conference, and as always, it was an *incredible* experience.

This event is one of our favorite events of the year, and a great opportunity to connect with the broader limb loss and limb difference community, learn from one another, and build new partnerships that help us do our work better.

From sharing our mission of responsible collection and redistribution of prosthetic components, to reconnecting with old friends and making new ones, we’re leaving feeling energized and inspired for the year ahead. It was a great way to kick off 2026 :)

A HUGE thank you to Amputee Coalition for hosting us and allowing us to exhibit among the nonprofit groups!

Happy New Year from Penta! We’re excited to kick off 2026 with our very first Mission Monday of the year!

Meet Ulbosyn from Kazakhstan 🇰🇿
After losing her leg due to a medical error, Ulbosyn struggled to adapt. She lost her job, and the challenges of adjusting to limb loss took a serious toll on her mental health.

But with the support of our incredible partners at CyborgBase, and a prosthetic leg made possible by components donated through Penta, Ulbosyn began walking again, sometimes up to 8 hours a day without crutches!

With her newfound mobility, she’s become unstoppable: Ulbosyn has applied for (and won!) a government grant, built two greenhouses where she grows strawberries and vegetables, returned to her dream job as a teacher, and traveled to Turkistan, fulfilling a lifelong dream.

Ulbosyn’s story is just one example of thousands of the potential that can be unlocked with the right assistive technology. We can’t wait to see what else she’ll go on to achieve!

It’s Mission Monday! 🧡🌍

Meet Peter from Mbale, Uganda 🇺🇬

In 2023, Peter was struck in a motorcycle accident that severely injured his leg, leading to amputation. As the sole breadwinner for his family, he was determined to regain his mobility and return to work.

Thanks to our partner, Gizamba Prosthetic & Orthotic Services, and components donated by Penta, Peter received his first-ever prosthesis—and is now walking again and back at work! 🦿

Peter’s journey is a powerful reminder of why Limb Loss & Limb Difference Awareness Month matters—and why access to prosthetic care is so critical. Join us in supporting more individuals like Peter:

📦 It’s Warehouse Wednesday — and this one was a family affair! 🧡

Our Director of Operations, Mijamin Strong, had a special guest in the warehouse today—his dad came by to volunteer! Together, we inventoried dozens of components and packed over 60 prosthetic feet for an upcoming shipment heading to India 🇮🇳.

We love when our mission brings people together—not just around the world, but right here at home too. 💪
What a great way to spend another day during 🧡

It’s Mission Monday! 🌍🦿

Our amazing partners at are back from their trip to Peru—and they brought incredible updates with them! 🇵🇪

During their intensive week of work at the Daniel Alcides CarriĂłn National Hospital in Lima, Peru, they were able to fit over 60 patients with prosthetic limbs! The team utilized dozens of Penta components to help restore mobility and independence to so many individuals.

We’re so inspired by their dedication and honored to be a part of this work. Every component we send out represents real movement in someone’s life, including some of the amazing individuals pictured here. 💪

Thank you, Dreaming and Working Together, for being part of our network and our efforts to expand access to mobility!

🎉 Warehouse Wednesday meets !🧡

On Wednesdays during Limb Loss & Limb Difference Awareness Month, we wear orange to honor and uplift the limb loss and limb difference community!

Today, we stayed busy in the warehouse—packing up three boxes of prosthetic components for our incredible partner in South Africa, Stepping into Grace 🇿🇦. Each box is filled with possibility, helping bring mobility to those who need it most! There’s no better way to acnowledge and celebrate 🧡

🇺🇬 Meet Susan from Mbale, Uganda! 🇺🇬

In 2017, Susan lost her leg in a house fire and since then, has relied solely on crutches to get around. With both of her parents gone, she’s been lovingly supported by her local church community, who are helping to care for her.

Thanks to our incredible partner Gizamba Prosthetic and Orthotic Services, Susan was recently fit with her VERY FIRST prosthesis with components donated by Penta! 🦿✨

Now, she’s walking with confidence—and she can’t wait to go back to school and rejoin her classmates.

We are especially thrilled to share Susan’s story during Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month, and are so proud to be a part of her journey! Susan’s strength and spirit remind us why access to mobility matters!

It’s Mission Monday at Penta! 🧡🧡🧡

Last week, we hosted our fifth Limb Disassembly Day (LDD) with the amazing at their Long Island campus. In under two hours, over 30 volunteer students and faculty came together to disassemble 81 full prosthetic limbs into an incredible 301 usable components!

These parts will soon make their way to clinics in our global network, where they’ll be used to restore mobility for people in need across multiple countries. 🌍🦿

This event was the perfect way to kick off Limb Loss & Limb Difference Awareness Month (LLLDAM), and we couldn’t have done it without the support of Mintz Group, , and . Huge thanks also to .speaker who helped guide students through the disassembly process with his expert knowledge.
We’re already looking forward to the next one!
