We’re so excited to host the inaugural CancerBuddy App Communitas Retreat, a 3-day in-person gathering designed for cancer patients and survivors, and it’s happening August 28–30, 2026 at the stunning Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, NY. 🍂

Nestled on 250 acres in the Hudson Valley, this retreat is a space to rest, reflect, and connect with others who truly get it — because no one should navigate cancer alone.

We were proud to have CancerBuddy Founder, Christina Merrill, join the Fifth Annual ALL Cancer CARE Workshop as a presenter this past June 24–27 in New York City.

Hosted at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, the four-day in-person event brought together researchers, clinicians, and advocates to advance quality, culturally appropriate cancer care research across the full care continuum — from prevention through survivorship.

Christina presented on Mobile Health as part of a session on Using mHealth Tools and Platforms to Improve Cancer Research in Medically Understudied Populations, alongside fellow leaders Shine Chang, PhD (MD Anderson Cancer Center), Miria Kano, PhD (University of Colorado), Irene Tami-Maury, DMD, DrPH (University of Texas), and Nelson Sanchez, MD (Memorial Sloan Kettering).

Her participation reflects CancerBuddy's ongoing commitment to building bridges between technology, peer support, connection, community and outcomes for cancer patients everywhere.

Finishing treatment is a milestone worth celebrating, but for many survivors, it’s also the beginning of a new chapter filled with questions, uncertainty, and adjustment.

Life after cancer doesn’t always mean life goes back to the way it was before. Survivors may face ongoing physical challenges, emotional ups and downs, financial stress, and the task of redefining what “normal” looks like.

If you’re navigating survivorship, know that you don’t have to do it alone. Support, resources, and a community that understands can make all the difference.

Finishing treatment is a milestone worth celebrating, but for many survivors, it's also the beginning of a new chapter filled with questions, uncertainty, and adjustment.
