Your Excellency,

ON THE ISSUE OF SUNDAY ADEYEMO [ IGBOHO ]

I write to you with utmost respect and a sincere appeal concerning one of Nigeria’s young patriots, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Igboho. We urge you to review his case with compassion, fairness, and justice, recognizing that he is not a traitor but a son trying to defend his people and his homeland.

Mr. President, Sunday Adeyemo has been unfairly vilified and subjected to harsh treatment. He is a young man who stood up to defend the Yoruba region from violent invasions, kidnappings, rapes, and other forms of brutality inflicted by invaders from Northern Nigeria, particularly the Fulani herdsmen. His efforts were driven by the desire to protect his people, their farms, their families, and their dignity, in the face of insecurity and terror.

During the tenure of the previous administration, Sunday Adeyemo's properties were destroyed, his luxury cars burnt, his bank accounts frozen, and he was forced into exile—actions that are devastating and unfair for a patriot who only sought to secure his community’s safety. It is important to underscore that he was never a terrorist; rather, he was a victim of political and social circumstances beyond his control.

We also note with concern that many individuals involved in acts of terrorism in the North, who have perpetrated violence and destruction, have been granted presidential pardons without similar treatment. This inconsistency calls for fair and just consideration for all Nigerians, regardless of their regional or ethnic background.

Your Excellency, we humbly beseech you to use your good offices to release Sunday Adeyemo from the wanted list, unfreeze his bank accounts, and return any assets or funds unlawfully seized. This act of clemency will not only restore his dignity but also demonstrate your commitment to justice, fairness, and national unity.

May I remind you that Nigeria is strongest when it stands for justice, equality, and peace among all its people. A decision to free Igboho will serve as a powerful message of reconciliation and the government’s commitment to protecting the rights of all citizens, especially those who have only sought to defend their communities and their heritage.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. We trust in your wisdom and sense of justice to do what is right for Nigeria and for its people.
