Kesem at Columbia University Providing free summer camps and year-round peer support for children impacted by a parent’s cancer in the NYC/ NJ community.

Our mission is to support children through and beyond their parent’s cancer with free, fun-filled creative programs and a lasting community. Camp Kesem at Columbia University was founded in 2011 and supports children in the New York City community by providing Camp Kesem, a free week-long summer camp experience, and year-round Through and Beyond support services. Our chapter is operated by 55 student volunteers and serves 115 campers ages 6-18 per year. Kesem operates at more than 130 chapters coast-to-coast. Its programs and services are all funded by generous donations from individuals, foundations, and corporate partners. Kesem is a federally registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.
