Meet Kenneth Peters. 🎬

Kenneth’s film “Life with Autism: A Day in Red Hook” follows Grace — a sixteen-year-old Black girl with autism — navigating her Brooklyn neighborhood on her own terms.

💬 “You have a right to be seen. You have a right to be heard. You have a right to use your voice.” — Kenneth Peters

Kenneth is nominated for the 2026 F. John Outcalt Award for Outstanding Filmmaking. Watch the film at the link in bio — then join us May 20th at the ChangeMakers Gala where the winner is announced live. 🎟

My growth began the moment I stepped outside of what was familiar.

Through Reel Works’ Train & Earn program, I built confidence, tried new things, and discovered what I’m capable of.

It wasn’t always easy, but stepping outside my comfort zone is where real progress begins.
It may feel a little uncomfortable at first, but that’s where growth, confidence, and new opportunities start to show up.💡✨

If you’ve been waiting for a sign to challenge yourself, this is it. 🚀

– Sincerely, Cinyia 💙

⭐️ Congratulations to Laila Nesbitt on receiving the Gerson Foundation Grant!

Her short film, Out of Frame, uses cinematography to explore the gap between how someone appears and how they feel, raising important awareness about mental health.

We’re so grateful to the Daniel Gerson Memorial Fund for the Arts for supporting young filmmakers and helping stories like Laila’s shine. ✨
