Time is one of our greatest gifts, yet it often feels like our scarcest resource.

A Season for Everything: Making Time Sacred invites participants to explore time not simply as something to manage, but as something to sanctify.

Drawing on Jewish texts and timeless wisdom, Rabbi Debra Eisenman offers practical and spiritual insights for bringing greater purpose, presence, and holiness to the ordinary moments of everyday life, just as we begin preparing for the High Holy Days.

📸 A photograph may look like undeniable proof, but images can mislead as easily as they can inform. In an era of viral content and AI-generated images, how can we know what we're really seeing?

This evening marks the beginning of Tisha B'Av, the Jewish day of mourning.
As the fast begins, we remember the destruction of the First and Second Temples in Jerusalem, along with other tragedies that have shaped Jewish history. It is a time for reflection, remembrance, and hope.

May the lessons of our past inspire us to build a future of compassion, unity, and peace.

Melton is thriving at B'nai Torah Congregation in Boca Raton , and it's a wonderful thing to see.

Much of that success comes down to the leadership of Melton Director Penina Bredoff. She has cultivated a culture where Melton is more than a series of classes — it's a cornerstone of adult Jewish engagement. Participants return semester after semester, invite friends, and come to see Jewish learning as an ongoing journey.

This congregation is providing opportunities for learners to become ambassadors, for classrooms to become communities, and for Melton to serve as a catalyst for lifelong Jewish learning.

In the latest edition of The Thread, our email series weaving wisdom and tradition with Jewish living, Rabbi Sari Laufer of Stephen Wise Temple in Los Angeles talks about the role of Jewish joy in everyday life. She reflects on balancing the heaviness and importance of Jewish tradition with warmth, celebration, family memories, and hope. The Jewish calendar moves to a rhythm all its own. Just weeks after celebrating freedom, revelation, and the joy of summer, it asks us to reflect. We are now in the midst of the Three Weeks, the period that begins with the Seventeenth of Tammuz, continues through the Nine Days, and culminates in Tisha B’Av, inviting us into a season of mournful memory.

At first glance, these weeks seem to commemorate destruction: breached walls, a fallen Temple, and centuries of loss. But Jewish tradition asks something deeper. We remember more than what we lost: we ask why we lost it and what we must do differently this time. Jewish tradition challenges every generation to look beyond history and ask difficult questions about our own choices, our own communities, and our own responsibilities. Our mourning is not the opposite of hope. It is the embodiment of hope, affirming that what was broken can be repaired.

This year, as we journey through this season, we invite you to explore the history, ideas, and enduring questions it inspires. The Three Weeks remind us that to remember is not simply to look backward. It is to carry our past faithfully, learn from it honestly, and begin the work of repair. It is no coincidence that just three weeks after Tisha B’Av, we enter the month of Elul. Before the High Holidays ask us to examine ourselves, the Three Weeks ask us to examine our history. In that sense, our journey toward the High Holidays has already begun.
