BAC Local 7 TMT NY/NJ tile setter Leo Loyola recently shared what his union career has meant to him and his family:

“My union is very important to me and my family. My life has changed tremendously since I joined the union over 25 years ago.”

We thank International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers for sharing Leo’s message and highlighting the difference a union career can make.

Taking it back to 2024 and some incredible stonework at
4650 Broadway.

These massive stone slabs didn't get from rough cut to finished lobby without serious skill and craftsmanship. With Miller Druck as the signatory contractor, BAC Local 7 TMT members helped transform this space into an impressive finished project.

BAC Local 7 TMT NY/NJ joined the New York Building Trades and Team Heart 9/11 for the 25th Anniversary Tribute to Labor of 9/11.

We remember those we lost and recognize the union tradespeople, first responders, and countless others who answered the call, helped our city recover, and rebuilt New York.

We also honor all those who have passed away in the years since due to illnesses related to their service and exposure at Ground Zero.

Twenty-five years later, their courage, sacrifice, and service will never be forgotten.

Thank you to our members who showed up to honor their memory and stand with the building trades community.

BAC Local 7 TMT members recently completed a nine-week tile project at Glen Cove Hospital with Dubner Landscaping & Construction.

The work required extensive surface preparation, cutting and installing multiple tile sizes, and completing detailed patterns throughout the installation.

Through their skill and strong work ethic, our members completed the project on schedule with little to no punch-list work required.

Shawmut served as the general contractor, and members of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 1, NY completed the caulking work.

The before-and-after photos show the quality of the finished installation. We are extremely proud of every member who worked on this project.
