The Dynasty Project creates and supports innovative programs that enrich local APIA communities through athletics and the pursuit of athletic endeavors. TDP looks to build a culture of athletics in APIA communities as part of a complete and healthy lifestyle while providing the resources to maintain that culture for future generations. Through athletics, we seek to promote important life skills su

ch as teamwork, leadership, the value of hard work and sacrifice, discipline, and healthy living all while getting exposure to programs and resources that might not otherwise be accessible to Asian American communities.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Corky Lee, legendary photographer and Chinatown stalwart. He stopped by our youth WRAO basketball league in 2013. These are some of his photos. There was no greater advocate for Chinatown and for APIA causes than Corky Lee. Rest in peace.

As most of you already know, there will not be a Youth League this summer due to COVID-19 safety precautions. This is especially unfortunate at a time when it feels like the league could have done some real good in the community. But it's not going anywhere. Be safe and healthy this summer, and we'll see you next year! @ New York City

31 APA Athletes in 31 Days: DEE HAMAGUCHI

Best known for legally paving the way for women's Olympic boxing, Dee started in judo, winning New York's Empire Games in 1990 and becoming the U.S. National Champion in '98 at 45kg.

After registering for New York City's Golden Gloves amateur boxing tournament--who had never taken on any woman competitors--in 1994, the ACLU took on her case. Dee helped open the door for an official women's division in 1995, and eventually for the women's Olympic boxing division.

Dee learned to box alongside a growing group of women boxers including author Kate Sekules (The Boxer's Heart), and filmmakers Katya Bankowsky (Shadowboxers) and Karyn Kusama (Girlfight). Dee trained with Yoel Judah (boxer Zab Judah's father), who had competed as a kickboxer and boxer. (from Malissa Smith's A History of Women's Boxing)
