Posted • BCA Dance Lab Resident Melissa Alexis invites you to a free movement workshop exploring healing and evolution, themes that inform her newest work, The Promised Land.

Through guided choreography and structured improvisation, participants will explore questions like:
❔How do we honor the struggle of our ancestors while healing past wounds to move forward in the light?
❔What does it sound and feel like to move from war to harmony?
❔What reconfiguration of (our) nature has to happen for us to co-create a new world that we want to live in and pass on?
❔How will artificial intelligence (AI) shape us and how will we shape AI?

No dance background necessary ~ just curiosity and openness. Come move and reflect with guided form and flow.

📅 Saturday, October 25 | 6:30–8:30 PM
📍 Martin Hall, BCA Calderwood Pavilion | 527 Tremont St, Boston, MA 02116
*Free + Open to participants ages 12+
*RSVP required via 🔗 in bio

Before leaving Cleveland I got a milkshake at Pammy's Ice Cream in honor of my Mom (hi, Pammy!) and got to see this beautiful ceiling of a GROCERY STORE. (Market Basket might need to up their game....)

Heading to the airport soon!

Thanks to a Public Art Learning grant from NEFA, karen is Florence, AL studying surface design on fabric . On the way to dinner last night she discovered the Singing River statue and learned about Yuchi culture in the area before the Trail of Tears.
