A Religions for Peace delegation co-led by His Eminence Dr. Mustafa Ceric the last Grand M***i of Bosnia-Herzegovina and Dr. William Vendley, Secretary General of RfP, and joined by Mr. Baker al-Hiyari RfP Consultant on MENA and Syrian affairs and Dr. Mohamed Elsanousi of the Islamic Society of North America met with His Excellency Ahmed Mouaz Al Khatib, President of the National Coalition of Syrian Revolution and Opposition Forces in Cairo on December 31 to discuss the need for multi-religious cooperation in Syria.

Today is International Human Rights Day, an occasion to remember the words of the words of our Secretary General Dr. William Vendley at the last World Interfaith Harmony Week:

RfP Myanmar leaders met with President Obama during his historic first visit last week. According to Al Haj U Aye Lwin, the Islamic leader of RfP Myanmar, President Obama called for “respect for human rights, rule of law, tolerance and respect for diversity”. Since its official inauguration in September 2012, RfP Myanmar has been engaged in inter-religious advocacy calling for an end to the violence in Rakhine State, provided strategic humanitarian assistance in the area and has also joined a consortium of organizations addressing gender-based violence, maternal & newborn health and HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention.
