09/28/2012
October 19, 2012, 8:30 a.m. - 2:45 p.m.
Topic: Former Boston Globe columnist, Ellen Goodman, is embarking on an ambitious national campaign to have every person's end of life preferences expressed and respected.
At our Fall quarterly meeting, Martha Hayward, lead for public and patient engagement at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), will tell us about the campaign and will challenge us to explore the essences of The Conversation Project for our life and work.
The presentation and follow-up morning and afternoon discussions, first-hand stories and integrative exercises will give us a chance to embrace a broad range of profound questions such as how we define "end of life," how we balance the concerns of prospective care recipients and caregivers in end of life conversations, and how we create the space for deep conversations about life and death with our families and clients. Useful for our clients, LPN practitioners and professionals in related fields.
Cost: Members and first-time guests: $20
(includes continental breakfast & lunch / portable lunch in case you have to leave at 12:30 p.m.)
Second-time Guests: $35
Open to All: LPN members, colleagues and interested others
Place: First Parish Church, 349 Boston Post Road, Weston, MA
