ACP American Corporate Partners (ACP) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting veterans and active duty spouses to find meaningful careers

American Corporate Partners (ACP) offers a premier, nationwide mentoring program designed to support Veterans and Military Spouses in their transition to meaningful careers. The program pairs eligible participants—Veterans who have served on Active-Duty since 2001, Spouses of those wounded or killed in action, and Spouses of Active-Duty service members—with experienced Mentors from leading corporations and universities. Each one-on-one mentorship is customized to meet the unique goals of the Protégé and lasts for a full year. Participants receive guidance on career exploration, résumé building, job market navigation, networking, and leadership development. Mentors are volunteers from Fortune 500 companies amongst other in-demand industries.

Today, we recognize National POW/MIA Recognition Day, a day to honor Service Members who were held as prisoners of war or remain missing in action, and the families who continue to carry their stories forward.

For ACP Mentor Sean Cook, this day carries a deeply personal meaning. His uncle, Colonel Thomas Nelson Moe, was a US Air Force officer and Vietnam War Veteran who spent 1,881 days as a prisoner of war in North Vietnam after being captured in 1968.

First Lieutenant Moe endured more than five years in captivity before returning home during Operation Homecoming in 1973. He went on to continue his Air Force career and eventually retired as a Colonel, receiving numerous military decorations for his service.

For Sean, his uncle’s story is more than a part of his family’s history. It shaped his understanding of service, resilience, and the importance of supporting others through times of transition.

Sean was also inspired by his father, a Marine who served in Vietnam, whose own service further shaped Sean’s appreciation for the military community and those who have served.

That legacy is part of what inspired Sean to give back as an ACP Mentor. Through mentorship, he has found another way to support Veterans and help them navigate the transition from military to civilian careers.

This POW/MIA Recognition Day, we honor Colonel Moe and all those who have served, sacrificed, and endured in service to our country.

Thank you, Sean, for sharing your family’s story and for continuing that legacy of service through mentorship.

In celebration of the 79th Anniversary of the Air National Guard, we recognize the Airmen and their families whose service has strengthened our nation for nearly eight decades.

Established on September 18, 1947, the Air National Guard was created alongside the US Air Force as the air component of the National Guard. Since its founding, Air National Guard Airmen have answered the call to serve during national
emergencies, supported communities across the country, and deployed around the world in support of critical missions.

The Air National Guard holds a unique place in our military, bringing together military service and civilian life. Citizen-Airmen contribute not only through their service in uniform, but also through the skills, leadership, and experience they bring to their communities and civilian careers.

For the Veterans and Military Spouses in the ACP community, the Air National Guard’s legacy is a reminder of the lasting impact of service and the strength that comes from a commitment to serving others.

Today, we honor the Airmen who have served, those who continue to serve, and the families and communities who stand alongside them. Thank you for your dedication, sacrifice, and commitment to our nation.

In celebration of the 79th Anniversary of the US Air Force, we recognize the Airmen and their families who have served our nation and the legacy of service, innovation, and leadership they continue to carry forward.

Established on September 18, 1947, the US Air Force became an independent branch of the US military following the National Security Act of 1947. Since then, generations of Airmen have built on that legacy through their service around the world.

For ACP Protégé Marshal Pennock, his time in the US Air Force played an important role in his transition to the private sector. As a 13N nuclear missile officer with the 490th Missile Squadron at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Marshal operated and controlled the Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile system and spent more than 200 days underground on alert supporting the nation’s nuclear deterrence mission.

With support and guidance from his ACP Mentor, Marshal was able to navigate his career transition and ultimately secure a position as a Senior Internal Auditor at Cherry Bekaert.

Reflecting on his experience, Marshal shared:

“The ACP and its Mentors were an invaluable resource that supported me in my transition to the private sector. I encourage all Service Members to reach out to ACP who are also considering a similar transition!”

Marshal’s experience is one example of how the skills and experiences gained through military service can continue to shape the next chapter of a Veteran’s career.

Thank you, Marshal, for sharing your story and for letting us celebrate your Air Force service as we recognize the 79th anniversary of the US Air Force.

Last Thursday, ACP welcomed an incredible group of partners, Mentors, and supporters to our headquarters for Honoring 9/11 Through Action.

In recognition of the 25th anniversary of September 11, we came together to reflect, connect, and consider what it means to turn remembrance into action.

Throughout the evening, we heard thoughtful perspectives from our panelists, Julie Holmes, Angie Boudreau, Chris Pagan, and Matt Widmer, who shared their experiences with mentorship, the Veteran and Military Spouse community, and the work their companies are doing to support them. The conversation highlighted the important role Corporate America can play in turning remembrance into meaningful action.

We were also honored to recognize several of ACP’s outstanding All-Star Mentors, Dawn Oram, Darrell Doremus, Chris Pillow, and Chana Sudranski, whose dedication and commitment to helping Veterans and Military Spouses navigate their civilian careers exemplify what it means to turn experience into impact.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared in the conversation, and helped make the evening such a meaningful success. We are grateful for your continued support of ACP and the community we serve.

But the conversation doesn’t end with September 11.

Remembrance is one way we honor the past. Action is how we carry it forward.
