One night only in NYC 🎭

Stanislas Roquette brings Insuline & Magnolia to New York for the very first time.

A deeply personal, coming-of-age story, both moving and funny, about illness, friendship, and the power of literature.

At 15, Stanislas learns he has insulin-dependent diabetes, turning his world upside down. Then he meets Fleur whose radiant spirit opens the door to imagination, books, and a new way of seeing life.

La Dictée Géante is coming to the Lycée Français de New York! ✍️

As part of our French & Francophone Cultural Fair, En Français, Oui but Why?, our Cultural Center is hosting a very special edition on Saturday, April 25, marking the 1000th Dictée Géante and its very first time in New York.

A dictée is a classic French exercise where participants transcribe a text read aloud, testing their spelling, grammar, and punctuation skills. Led by Rachid Santaki (), this large-scale, interactive dictée invites participants of all ages to engage with the French language in a shared format. A moment to share together—no pressure, no grades, just the joy of language.

Open to all ages and levels, the Dictée Géante offers different tracks so everyone can participate at their own pace:
• Elementary school students
• Middle school students
• High school students & adults
• French language learners (FLE)

Rencontrez Michel Ocelot à l’occasion d’En Français, Oui but Why? 🤩

Ne manquez pas la projection de Dilili à Paris, suivie d’une conversation avec Michel Ocelot !

Dilili, une jeune fille kanak, s’associe au coursier Orel pour enquêter sur de mystérieux enlèvements de jeunes filles à travers le Paris de la Belle Époque. En suivant les indices, ils découvrent un groupe misogyne secret connu sous le nom des « Mâles Maîtres ». Au fil de leur aventure, ils rencontrent des figures emblématiques comme Marie Curie ou Toulouse-Lautrec tout en explorant la richesse culturelle de la ville. Leur quête devient un combat pour la justice, l’égalité et l’émancipation des femmes.

A touching coming of age play about friendship and the power of literature, perfect for families with 10-year-olds and up.

When Stanislas learns at fifteen that he has insulin-dependent diabetes, his carefree childhood comes to an abrupt end and he withdraws into himself. Everything changes when he meets Fleur, whose free and luminous spirit introduces him to the power of literature and its ability to re-enchant reality.

Stanislas Roquette presents a sensitive and humorous autobiographical story. The performance will be followed by a Q&A session.

En Français, Oui but Why? 📚✒️ Écrire l’H/histoire

Marianne Jaeglé et Olivier Guez sont nos invités pour En francais, Oui but Why?. 👀✨ Ensemble, ils participeront à une table ronde sur les liens qu’entretiennent littérature et Histoire.

La littérature peut-elle combler les silences et les zones d’ombre de l’Histoire ? Et si oui, jusqu’où peut-elle aller sans trahir les faits ? En donnant chair à des figures ayant réellement existé, les écrivains naviguent entre imagination et rigueur, entre fidélité aux événements et liberté créative.
