We also want to highlight a few helpers who helped make the magic happen this year.

Katie Childs has been photographing our camp bands for years, and makes every group look like they’re about to drop the song of the summer (which they usually do!).

Our Program & Marketing Assistant, Lillian Buckley Jacobs, went above and beyond creating custom logos for each band. It’s one of those little details that makes camp feel extra special.

It takes a village to pull off all aspects of camp and when everyone brings their talents together, we form like Voltron. 🤖💛

You can watch every band’s final performance on our YouTube channel! We’ll be sharing them throughout the week, but if you can’t wait, head to the link in our bio to watch. 🎶

Summer camp is all done and we still have so much to share! For now, we’ll leave you with the talented Eloise and Rainey duo, who wrote how we feel year after year.

We couldn’t have written a better commercial if we tried! Some things are better left to the kids! 💕

We’ve wrapped up our final camp of the summer, and we’re ending on many high notes. 💛

In our Songwriting Workshop, we explored how songs come to life. Campers challenged themselves to write from new perspectives, discussed lyrics they love, and discovered that inspiration can hide just about anywhere — from a phrase in a Trust Tree library book (we have a library, oh hey!) to a feeling found in a melody.

Through daily songwriting exercises and challenges, our campers spent the week trying on different approaches to crafting new songs, playing with imagery in lyrics, and discovering what they want to say and how they want to sound.

They walked away with some pretty great songs in progress as well as a foundation to keep growing as songwriters.

We're closing the book on our Mixed Media Camp... for now! 📖✨

Last week, campers transformed ordinary sketchbooks into magical mixed media worlds filled with artwork, COLOR, collages, reflections, and images that inspire them. In the process, they experimented with gelli printing, watercolor, color theory, interactive paper engineering, and creative writing prompts. Each journal became a place to collect ideas, memories, and inspo long after camp ends.

Art educator extraordinaire Jordan Bennett and Program Assistant/local artist Adrianna Kimble-Ray challenged our campers to view creating art as a daily practice and gave them the tools to transform everyday thoughts into artistic masterpieces.

Another year of epic bands at our Songwriting & Art Camp! Teamwork, connection, and collaboration were the goals and these campers understood the assignment.

Over the past two weeks, our Songwriting & Art camp participants formed bands, found their sound, and wrote and performed original songs. To get to know each other, they waxed poetic about songs they love. They tried out new instruments, experimented with rhythm, discovered how lyrics can become stories, and built songs with solid structures.

This year’s original songs were inspired by women who came before us in music, future adventures ahead of us, and that old standby, teenage heartbreak.

During art, campers created a sculptural “Dolly Village” (inspired by the queen herself, Dolly Parton), which included literal punk rocks and fencing decorated with graffiti-lettering. They filled sketchbooks, created Frida Kahlo-inspired self-portraits, explored color through monochromatic studies, and learned about punk-inspired art.

We couldn’t be happier with the way our campers trusted each other, took creative risks, and were able to leave with art and music they could be proud of. That’s exactly why we love this camp so much. ❤️🎶
