June 26 is almost here — and we couldn't be more excited about the 16th National Conference on Work & Cancer.

Oncologists Dr. Alan Astrow, Dr. Victoria Blinder, and Dr. Ray Wadlow will share their perspective during a session with CAC's Board Chair Jenny B. Fine. HR leaders from Marriott International, Publicis Groupe and Nestlé will get real about what meaningful employer support looks like during a conversation with Gina Jacobson from the Working with Cancer Initiative. And Katie Welch of CHANEL joins us to talk career transitions and cancer — moderated by CAC Executive Director Rebecca V. Nellis, MPP.

Plus, CAC's Rachel Becker, LMSW, Scott Sinclair, and Sissy Silva lead hands-on sessions for anyone navigating work — whether you're currently employed or back on the job hunt.

On National Cancer Survivors Day, we're reflecting on how much the conversation around survivorship has evolved—and how much more it now includes beyond the doctor's office. Things like returning to work. Rebuilding confidence. Finding your footing again.

Survivors deserve support that goes beyond their medical team — and for 25 years, CAC has been here to do that, helping people during every stage of their cancer experience thrive at work.

We are so honored to do this work. Every single day.

As Pride Month begins, we reaffirm that Cancer and Careers is a place where everyone is welcome. There is still a lot that needs to be done to make the workplace equitable and accessible for the LGBTQIA+ community and we're committed to keep working towards it every day. 🏳️‍🌈

Country music singer-songwriter Joshua Ray Walker was diagnosed with cancer the day before he was set to make a big appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. "It seemed like every time I had some big milestone in my career, there was some personal tragedy tied to it." Walker continued to write music throughout treatment and is now about to release his first album since his diagnosis in 2023.

Cancer and Careers is heading to the ASCO Annual Meeting in Chicago this weekend — and we're looking forward to connecting with the incredible community that makes this work possible.

From oncologists and healthcare providers to fellow advocacy organizations, and supporters, ASCO brings together the people who are shaping the future of cancer care. We're proud to be part of that conversation and to represent the thousands of people navigating work and career alongside a cancer diagnosis.

If you're attending, make sure to stop by the Cancer and Careers booth in the Advocacy section of the Exhibit Hall to say hi!

In Kylie Minogue's newly released Netflix documentary she revealed a second cancer diagnosis she received in 2021 and chose to kept private, unlike her first diagnosis in 2005.

"I don't feel obliged to tell the world, and actually I just couldn't at the time because I was just a shell of a person...I didn't want to leave the house again at one point. Padam Padam opened so many doors for me but on the inside I knew that cancer wasn't just a blip in my life."

Cancer and Careers has the enormous privilege of hearing personal stories every day. While collecting data, spotlighting companies doing it right and bringing the conversation around work and cancer to the public view are all critical to making the necessary systemic changes, it is the individual's we support that drive our work.
