Lockwood, and Miss Mary Desha. The DAR is headquartered in Washington, District of Columbia, at 1776 D Street NW. We are a non-political and non-profit volunteer women's service organization. We promote education, patriotism, and historic preservation.
The Catherine Schuyler Chapter, NSDAR, was chartered on February 8, 1897 and was officially organized on June 12, 1897 in Belmont, NY. The chapt
er was named in grateful remembrance of Catherine Schuyler, wife of General Philip Schuyler, who was conspicuous by position and character in Revolutionary times. Catherine Schuyler was born Catrina Van Rensselaer in 1734. She was married to Captain Philip Schuyler in 1755 and died in 1803. The span of her life covered the most interesting period in the early history of the Republic. Membership is open to any woman, at least 18 years of age, who can prove direct lineage to a patriot of the Revolutionary War. Becoming a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution allows you to honor the legacy of your ancestral patriot's quest for freedom. If you think you are descended from a Revolutionary War patriot, we will work with you in your genealogical search with our available resources. As a Daughter of the American Revolution, you have the opportunity to honor our veterans, support historic preservation, promote education, and participate in patriotic activities. If you would like more information on our chapter's activities or how to become a member, please explore our website or contact us through https://catherineschuylernsdar.weebly.com
