Mark and Marcelle met at Covenant House 11 years ago. They're still best friends.
On the surface, they couldn't have been more different. Marcelle is bold and expressive. Mark is steady and quiet.
But in each other, they found safety and acceptance in a world that is not always safe for LGBTQ+ youth. For over a decade, they've shown up for each other, checked in often, and challenged one another when life gets heavy. They are proof that love doesn't always arrive with labels.
Their story reflects what Pride Month is truly about: visibility, acceptance, and connection. It reflects what Covenant House strives to offer every young person who walks through our doors — a place to be seen, supported, and free to be who they are.
