This is Gifty’s story.

When she finished primary school in Tanzania, she dreamed of continuing her education. The path forward wasn’t always certain, but she kept going.

Over the years, Gifty earned both a diploma and a university degree. She has also finished Law School and is awaiting her final exams. In addition, she is pursuing her master’s degree in International Human Rights while gaining experience within Tanzania’s legal system.

Her journey is still unfolding.

Every additional year of schooling can increase a girl’s future income by up to 20%.

This International Women’s Day, we celebrate the futures girls like Gifty are building.

This International Women’s Day, we celebrate the resilience and strength of women like Ms. Florence Neba of Cameroon. At 44, this single mother of three once struggled to make ends meet through labor-intensive day jobs on other people’s farms, with exhausting work and meager pay. But in 2023, through a Jenga Jumuiya project funded by a grant from Be One Foundation, she received improved vegetable seeds and essential farm tools to start her own farm. Today, she not only grows enough vegetables to feed her family but also earns an income by selling the surplus—ensuring a brighter future for herself and her children.

Ms. Neba is just one of 100 women whose lives have been transformed through this Jenga Jumuiya initiative, empowering them with the resources and skills needed for financial independence and food security. Her journey is a testament to the power of community-driven solutions and the lasting impact of investing in women.

So incredibly proud of our sponsor student Loshilu Mollel - who has just achieved his diploma in Pre-Med!

I’ve known Loshilu since my first-ever visit to Tanzania (2007!) and have watched him grow from a sweet and curious boy to an intelligent and thoughtful young man.

We are so proud of you, Loshilu! 🎉🎉🎉

This is girl who started it all - Esaupatil. Her sweet smile and exuberant spirit stole my heart when she led me over the (empty) river and through the (acacia) woods to her (ridiculously overpopulated) school.

Since then - over a span of 15 years! - we’ve built classrooms, toilets, teachers houses, teachers offices, and sponsored students through primary, secondary, college and masters programs through Jenga Jumuiya.

Now I am thrilled to announce that Esau will be our next sponsor student as she continues her studies through college and beyond.

If you would like to help sponsor Esau or one of our other students, please click the link below.

OUR NAME Jenga = To Build Jumuiya = Community OUR MISSION To Build Community - Strength, Pride and Leadership - through the construction of schools, the renovation of classrooms and the sponsorship of students in developing countries. OUR PROJECTS BUILDING SCHOOLS: Oldonyo Sambu Primary School, Tanzania: In 2010, working closely with the community, we funded the construction of two classrooms and a teacher's office at the Oldonyo Sambu Primary School in a rural village of Tanzania. We continue to work with the school to provide classroom renovation projects and sponsor students at the school. We also have volunteer teaching and renovation projects available at this location. If you are interested in supporting this school via a project or volunteering, please contact us directly at: [email protected].

Lengiloriti Primary School, Tanzania: In 2017, we funded the construction of two classrooms and the roofing of two additional classrooms for a new school in the rural Maasailands of Tanzania. In 2018, we plan to complete two more classrooms and a toilet facility for the school, with the intention of the school opening in late 2018. We hope to continue to provide additional classrooms for this deserving school, support the teachers and provide student sponsorships in the coming years. For more information on this project, please visit: LENGILORITI SCHOOL PROJECT

Ebase-Bajoh Primary School, Cameroon: As of early 2018, we are currently in the midst of building two classrooms for a rural primary school in southwest Cameroon. We hope to complete the classrooms within the calendar year in order to provide a safe and welcoming environment for the beautiful children of this village. For more information on this project, please visit: CAMEROON SCHOOL PROJECT

Dover School Primary & Bishops College Secondary School, Carriacou, Grenada: We are currently raising funds for the renovation and support of two rural schools on the Caribbean island of Carricou, part of the nation of Grenada. For the Dover School, we plan to renovate their existing fencing to provide a safe and protected environment for the children to learn and play. For Bishops College, we plan to provide much needed school supplies, books and support for the students and teachers. For more information on this project, please visit: CARRIACOU SCHOOL PROJECTS BUILDING LEADERS: Sponsor Students: Since 2010, we have sponsored the education of students throughout Tanzania. We provide them with tuition, room and board (when necessary), school supplies, and other various elements needed to support their education. As of 2018, we have 11 several students in our sponsorship program: (4) now in university, (4) in secondary, (1) in primary, and (2) in nursery school. We hope to continue our sponsorship programs for each of these children until they reach their highest available level of education. In addition, we hope to expand this program to other regions of the world. For more information on this project, please visit: STUDENT SPONSORSHIPS
