We got to hang with Anne Hidalgo this AM, the former Paris Mayor who brought swimming to the Seine, to discuss how to expand the Swimmable Cities movement. Her story to make the Seine swimmable is very similar to ours, despite very different power dynamics.

Impossible!”
“Too expensive for just a few days of the Olympics games”
“I’ll believe it when I see it”

But in the end the dream became real and everyone loved it. She leveraged her goal to make the Seine swimmable to secure an Olympic bid, invest in green infrastructure, and open up several swimming sites along the river for the public to enjoy for decades to come.

Our superstar swimmer Nora Cronin is taking the plunge in the Chicago River Swim this weekend! 🏊‍♀️🌊

Even better, she’s swimming for a great cause. Nora is raising funds to support ALS research and learn-to-swim programs for Chicago youth—a mission very close to our hearts here at + POOL.

In concert with New York Fashion Week, + POOL’s Summer Pool Party is excited to announce an intimate fashion experience with Hawaiian-born, NYC-based designer Mikael Pono (www.mikaelpono.com) and his newest collection, Genesis. The evening will explore a larger question at the heart of both Mikael Pono’s practice and + POOL’s mission: How can fashion and design exist in conversation with — rather than apart from — the natural world?

Through an intimate showroom-style experience, guests will be invited to discover the connection between the land, waterways, material sourcing, and the future of fashion in New York City.
