+ POOL's Bluefish program offers free swim lessons to youth ages 5-18 who have very few opportunities to learn to swim. The program gets kids excited about swimming as + POOL works to provide clean and safe access to our rivers.

to our Governors Island Bike Tour 🚲🌊

We had a blast riding bikes around the island, and we even stopped by Billion Oyster Project’s Oyster Pile — a massive mountain of oyster shells collected from NYC restaurants and diverted from the landfill. After being cleaned and cured, these shells return to the harbor as future oyster reefs, helping restore marine habitat and improve the health of our waterways.

Big thanks to Billion Oyster Project for the tour and the inspiring look at circular environmental action in NYC.

Kick off pool season in + POOL style at Ready, Set, Swim! This is a three-day celebration of water safety, swim education, and community at Seward Park Pool from June 23–25, 2026. The event includes CitySplash!, a free community swim bringing New Yorkers of all abilities together in the water; , celebrating Bluefish Learn-to-Swim graduates participating in their first-ever swim meet; and the 100 + POOL Challenge, a fundraiser supporting the 10th year of the Bluefish Learn-to-Swim program. As summer begins, help us expand swim access and lifesaving water skills for more kids across NYC.
