πŸ’§ Clean Water for Andriesvale
We are proud to support a major step forward in access to safe drinking water for the Khomani community in Andriesvale through the installation of a new 20-panel Carocell Water Purification System. This solar-powered solution brings sustainable water generation to one of the most water-scarce regions in the Kalahari.

On sunny days, the system can produce up to 1,200 litres of clean, distilled water, benefiting around 120 households. Each household has received a dedicated 10-litre container, supporting safe, reliable, and dignified daily access to water.

Previously, the community relied on highly brackish borehole water, posing long-term health risks such as high blood pressure and kidney complications. This new system offers a safe and reliable alternative, contributing to improved health and well-being.

We remain committed to supporting practical, community-driven solutions that create lasting impact where it is needed most.

Today, our graduates are already making a meaningful impact, serving across our 12 ECD centres across Namibia, helping to shape the next generation through early learning and care.

🌱 Growing Sustainable Solutions in Ghanzi πŸ’§

We’re proud to partner with the Office of the First Lady in Botswana to establish a hydroponics unit in the Ghanzi community, bringing innovative, climate-smart agriculture closer to those who need it most.

The initiative included hands-on training for community members, building the skills to manage and sustain the system long-term. The unit will produce tomatoes, cucumbers and green peppers, supporting access to fresh, nutritious produce while strengthening local food security. πŸ…πŸŒΆοΈ

The ongoing Tsumkwe Cleaning Campaign in Namibia continues to grow beyond its initial scope, embracing a more holistic approach to community development by actively engaging young people.

Alongside the clean-up efforts, youth are now engaging in friendly football matches and tournaments, creating positive spaces that offer alternatives to crime and idle time. These activities are fostering social cohesion while creating opportunities for young people to connect, build skills, and thrive together. πŸ’›

🌿 Preserving Language Through Digital Access πŸ’»

We’re proud to support a workshop led by Dr. Kerry Jones in Upington, focused on empowering community members to access the Ibali digital collection.

The archive features a rich body of photos, videos, and audio recordings in NΗ€uu, Nama, Afrikaans, and English, capturing conversations with native speakers and safeguarding invaluable cultural knowledge.

Attended by 23 Khomani community members, including Ouma Katrina Esau, who is featured in the archive, the workshop created a powerful moment where participants engaged with recordings of their ancestors speaking in their mother tongue. A true moment of pride and connection. πŸ’›
