Friends of Wingate Park

Friends of Wingate Park Since 2011, Friends of Wingate Park (FOWP) has played a significant role in the transformation of Wingate Park.

Friends of Wingate Park now operates under the Equal Employment Council - EEC, continuing our mission of community support, food distribution, and workforce development. Prior to FOWP commitment the park overshadowed by negative influences such as gang action, drug use and other criminal behavior. These activities, as we know prevented the community from seeing it as the jewel it was intended. Beg

inning 2011 FOWP galvanized community members by first changing their vision to the positive aspects of Wingate Park and then focusing their energies to remove negative activity with the assistance of the police department. Now, Wingate Park has health fairs, concerts and picnics for the community and the borough of Brooklyn.
