Our Story
Chicago’s Healthy Humor Team of Red Nose Docs arrive to play once a week at La Rabida Children’s Hospital. Healthy Humor, Inc. is an international leader in the field of Healthcare Clowning. Our specially trained, experienced, professional performers, working in teams of two, partner with Child Life Specialists in fifteen hospitals across the country, including La Rabida Children's Hospital here in Chicago. Visiting all areas of the hospital, our Red Nose Docs create moments of joy, wonder, laughter and comfort for hospitalized children and their circle of caregivers.

The La Rabida Healthy Humor Team, headed by Dr. Dot, includes Dr. Quirky, Dr. Gracie, Dr. LePeux, Dr. MA, and Dr. Piper with occasional visits from Nurse Cookie and Mme. Bustiere. The six of us have a combined 106 Years of Experience as clown doctors. If you have any questions, contact the Chief Bonehead, Dr. Dot, by messaging this page. Follow our adventures on this page.
Visit Vaudeville Chicago for other news of our team’s work in nursing homes & care centers. https://www.facebook.com/VaudevilleChicago/ or https://www.vaudevillechicago.org/ History: Healthy Humor, Inc. launched in the summer of 2016 and became the sponsor of Chicago’s La Rabida Team of Red Nose Docs in January of 2017. Previous to that, our team worked as the Chicago Clown Care Unit of the Big Apple Circus, appearing in various children's hospitals in Chicago from 1999 until September of 2016 when the Big Apple Circus closed its doors and ceased to be our sponsor. During those seventeen years, we played at Comer Medical Center, La Rabida Children's Hospital and Children's Memorial (now Lurie Children's). We also performed as Vaudeville Caravan in assisted living/nursing home facilities of Alden Northmoor, Peterson Park, Norwood, Resurrection, Wesley, Little Sisters, Smith Village and Park Shore Estates.
