American Friends of the Parents Circle-Families Forum (AF-PCFF) shares the human side of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict with the American public in order to foster a peace and reconciliation process. The AF-PCFF is committed to supporting the Parents Circle-Families Forum (PCFF) through raising public awareness, constituency building and fundraising in the U.S. The Parents Circle Families Forum

is a joint Israeli-Palestinian organization made up of more than 600 bereaved families. But instead of choosing revenge, they have chosen a path of reconciliation. Through the different works of the PCFF, these bereaved members have joined together to take tens of thousands of Palestinians and Israelis on their personal journeys of reconciliation. It is often raw and always emotional. But out of these interactions, comes change. Not the kind of change that makes headlines, but a more personal and profound shift in perspective. These bereaved members, armed with the credibility of their loss and the uncommon path they have chosen, have opened a crack in the psyche of a hardened populous. They have begun to stir an awareness about the conflict that transcends history and politics. For many, it is the first time they have seen “the other side” as human. The PCFF hopes for the day that political leaders reach agreement for peace. But they strongly believe that reconciliation between the Israeli and Palestinian people is essential to ensuring that peace is sustainable.

Today, thousands of Palestinians and Israelis came together for the It׳s Time أجا الوقت הגיע הזמן People's Peace Summit. Parents Circle members - bereaved Israelis and Palestinians - joined on the stage in person and virtually from Tel Aviv, the West Bank, and Gaza.

We shared about our losses and about the path forward for a brighter future based on mutual dignity, safety, and freedom -- for all.

It's time for peace. It can be and it will be.

Aziz Abu Sarah and Maoz Inon spoke on WBUR about The Future is Peace: their losses, their journeys to reconciliation, and what is needed for sustainable peace.

As we write this, they are on their way to It׳s Time أجا الوقت הגיע הזמן People's Peace Summit, which brings together over 80 Palestinian and Israeli organizations to say clearly "It's Time. Peace can be. It must be and it will be."

Palestinian Aziz Abu Sarah and Israeli Maoz Inon have both experienced tragic losses. The pair are now committed to peace between their two peoples.

Last week we visited the Palestinian village Mikhmas, in the West Bank. Mikhmas suffers from ongoing attacks and violence by settlers.

One of our Palestinian Young Ambassadors for Peace, who lives in the village, shared about the daily realities of ongoing threats and lack of security experienced by the residents. Parents Circle members helped build a fence in an effort to reduce repeated attacks, and donated first-aid equipment and fire extinguishers to the village.

We will continue to stand alongside impacted communities, and work together for human dignity and more just reality for everyone.

This ceremony was a testimony to the pain felt by families on both sides who lost their loved loved ones and yet chose to be part of the building of a different reality.

To everyone who took part and supported, from near and far - thank you. There were nearly 100 screening events around the world, and tens of thousands joined via livestream.

The work doesn't stop here, we will continue to pursue a just peace based on dignity, freedom, and the sanctity of human life - for all.

"In the midst of the greatest destruction, cracks are formed, and through them light can get in." We are the light. We are the day after 🩷

Still reeling with emotions and gratitude. Thank you to our bereaved Israeli and Palestinian members who hold this community together, to our partners at Combatants for Peace who co-lead the ceremony, and to the thousands of supports around the world who help make this work possible.
