For nine days in Greece, 41 bereaved Palestinian and Israeli teenagers took part in the "The Summer of the Day After" camp.
In a reality marked by profound pain, ongoing war, conflict, and occupation, the camp provided a safe space where these young people could meet away from fear, get to know one another as human beings, and embark on a shared journey grounded in empathy and mutual respect.
Campers learned about each other's daily realities, engaged with complex history, and took part in dialogue circles, group activities, workshops, games, creative projects, sports, and excursions. They listened to the personal stories of older PCFF members who lost loved ones and, despite their pain, chose the path of dialogue and reconciliation. They shared, listened, cried, laughed, and learned from one another.
Participating in the camp required courage, curiosity, and faith in the power of dialogue and peace. Together, these young people demonstrated the strength of partnership and a genuine desire to work toward a shared future for both peoples—a future of ending the occupation, freedom, security, justice, and peace.
The camp was a rare opportunity to build genuine friendships, break down prejudices born from fear, and discover the shared humanity that connects them.
