Thresh is a New York-based, female-led arts impact nonprofit producing work about storytelling in all its forms. The two-fold mission of Thresh is to educate and to entertain. From creating cross-cultural productions that deal with issues of identity, race, gender and inclusion, to outreach programs for marginalized and underserved communities in the US and abroad, we represent the underrepresented.

Join Preeti Vasudevan, Thresh Founder & Artistic Director, and Arjun Gupta, actor, producer, and Founder of Fontainhas, alongside special guest creators for an evening exploring the creative process: the discipline behind artistic practice, the stories that shape us, and the ways movement, conversation, music, food, and space can bring us together.

Expect candid conversation, interactive storytelling with Preeti, and plenty of room to eat, drink, connect, and create.

L’orient - The Making of...
Created by three trailblazing women creatives, L’Orient reimagines the 19th-century French colonial opera Lakmé through the perspective of 21st-century women.

Set within fantastical locations of architectural spaces, books, characters and references, this modern dance-opera brings together classical traditions, contemporary performance, music, theatre, and digital technology to question who gets to define beauty, identity, and representation in the 21st century.

From the archives✨ Preeti performing: Waiting for the fifth arrow.

An exploration of love, fate and death, the title of the piece refers to Hindu mythology, in which the god of love (K**a) carries a bow with five arrows in his quiver.

As he shoots his arrows one by one, the lover passes through the joys and torments of each of the five stages of desire and passion.
