In what I hope will be a big step forward for equality for unmarried people, check out my new Foundation for the Empowerment of Single People. It is a nonprofit. We fund projects that educate, raise awareness, and improve the lives of people who are single. You can submit a proposal -- deadlines are Sept 1 and Mar 1 -- and you can donate anytime. Unmarried Equality (aka Singles Equality) is looking for a Treasurer to join its Board of Directors. Description below. Note this is a volunteer position. If interested, contact [email protected].

Overview:
Singles Equality (SE) is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the rights of singles in the United States. As a key member of the Board of Directors, the Treasurer provides financial oversight and ensures the fiscal health and integrity of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper financial controls.
2. Monitor UE’s financial performance and provide regular reports to the Board.
3. Manage payments/expenditures

Qualifications:
1. Experience in nonprofit finance, accounting, or bookkeeping preferred.
2. Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate financial information clearly.
3. Familiarity with nonprofit compliance and reporting requirements a plus.
4. Commitment to UE’s mission and values.

Time Commitment:
Approximately 4–6 hours per month, including board meetings, financial reviews, and ongoing communication.
