📢 A New York Junior League 125th Anniversary Report.

One of the city’s oldest nonprofits, the New York Junior League, was founded by a group of young women in 1901 with a simple vision: trained women volunteers can lead change in their communities.

Yet 125 years after our founding, many of the same challenges continue to face our city.
From food and housing insecurity to widening educational and socioeconomic gaps, too many New Yorkers are falling through the cracks of a system grappling with accelerating need, funding constraints, and the long-term impacts of a global pandemic.

That’s why we convened leaders from across New York City’s nonprofit community to discuss the systemic challenges facing our human services sector-and what we can do to build a stronger, more resilient future for all New Yorkers.

Today, we’re proud to share our landmark 125th Anniversary Report, Bridging the Gaps: Strengthening NYC’s Human Services Infrastructure for Families and the Future.

History isn’t just something we celebrate. It’s something we create. For 125 years, NYJL members have strengthened communities, championed causes, and invested in the future.

Now we’re honoring the women carrying that legacy forward.
Members who make a gift of $1,250 or more to the First League Fund this year will be recognized in a special 125th Anniversary commemorative volume– a lasting tribute to the women shaping this moment in League history.

Because when future generations look back on this milestone...your name can be part of the story.

The First League Fund support the NYJL’s ongoing community work, leadership initiatives, and advocacy efforts.
