Our Program Director Danaleah Schoenfuss spoke 2026 Training Institute for Arts in Health and Creative Aging!

Her presentation, Creative Prescriptions: Weaving Individualized Plans for Wellness, explores how weaving becomes a powerful tool for individuals in senior centers and hospitals, helping them adaptively manage their physical and emotional well-being through art-making and collaboration with our teaching artists.

We’re proud to share this work with practitioners from across the field.

One month left of Weave In, Weave Out - a interactive weaving experience hosted by Intertwine Arts and

Curated by art historian , Weave In, Weave Out is grounded in the belief that art can function as a form of mediation between people, bodies, and different ways of knowing.

‘Through the shared act of weaving, with threads crossing, bodies gathering, stories unfolding, the project offers a microcosm of a more just and interconnected world. It is within these intimate, tactile encounters that radical futures are quietly, persistently woven into being.‘

On Saturday, January 31st, join us and Women of Culture for a hands-on weaving workshop led by artist Chelsea Maria Bizub—an intimate, creative afternoon inspired by a recent visit to Ruth Asawa: A Retrospective at MoMA.

Participants will explore the meditative joy of working with their hands, experimenting with color, texture, and pattern while creating something uniquely their own.

Whether you’re new to weaving or have experience, you’ll leave with a finished piece that reflects your personal style, along with a renewed sense of calm, inspiration, and creative clarity.

After the workshop, you are also invited to explore Chelsea’s studio and learn more about her process on a lower floor of the same building. Looms sponsored by Intertwine.

Date: January 31st
Time: 2-4pm
Location: the Penthouse at 57 west 57th St.
