♻️What does really mean?

🌱 The Brundtland Commission defined sustainability as the ability to meet the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
This is how the concept of was born in 1987.

🌍The concept of sustainability encompasses three dimensions:
Environmental: Preserving natural resources and ecological systems in the long term.
Economic: Managing resources responsibly and transparently, ensuring equity, stability, and resilience.
Social: Creating and maintaining a fair, just, and inclusive society for all individuals in the long term.

⚖️How does sustainability intertwine with human rights?
Think about having:
- Access to clean drinking water

🚨How do human rights intersect with sustainability?
Human rights violations tend to trigger vicious cycles of poverty and violence.
Unfair business practices usually hinder development in:
- Environmental aspects: Prioritizing cheaper and more polluting production methods at the expense of our ecosystem
- Economic aspects: leading to income inequalities
- Social aspects: increasing class tensions

💪What can be done to improve both sustainability and human rights?

Human rights must be embedded in policies and practice

Spread the conversation

Today is ’sDay—a day to celebrate love in all its forms. Yet, in many parts of the world, the freedom to love whomever you choose is still a privilege.

⚠️ In over 60 countries, homosexuality is criminalized. And in at least 11 countries, being + can cost you your life due to laws that impose the death penalty for same-sex acts. But the violence doesn’t stop there. Many LGBTQIA+ people worldwide are subjected to discrimination, conversion therapy, physical attacks, and systemic persecution.

🇺🇬 Uganda: A recently passed law in Uganda punishes “aggravated homosexuality” with life imprisonment or the death penalty. This is one of the most oppressive laws targeting LGBTQIA+ individuals in the world today.

🇷🇺 Russia: The Russian government has expanded its “gay propaganda” law, banning any positive discussion of LGBTQIA+ identities or relationships. Many live in fear and silence as even public expressions of their identity are criminalized.

🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia: Homosexuality is punishable by death in Saudi Arabia. Arbitrary arrests, torture, and constant surveillance are daily realities for the LGBTQIA+ community.

🇮🇷 Iran: In Iran, same-sex acts are punishable by death. The state’s persecution of LGBTQIA+ individuals is brutal and systematic, with constant monitoring of private lives.

🇦🇫 Afghanistan: Since the Taliban’s return to power, Afghanistan has become one of the most dangerous places in the world for LGBTQIA+ individuals. Even suspicion of same-sex acts can result in ex*****on.
Love is a fundamental human right, and protecting LGBTQIA+ rights means defending the freedom of all people.

stands with those who are still fighting for the right to live openly and freely. Together, we can build a fairer, more inclusive world for everyone. 🏳️‍🌈 🌈

✋ Punire i responsabili
✋ Offrire cure, protezione e asilo politico a bambin* soldat*
