We work closely with Bridgeport's Lighthouse Program and Youth Services Division to provide them with books. They have reached out to us to see if we can find donors to provide new or very clean Christmas books for their 1900 students. I am copying below the note I received in hopes that some groups might be able to help them out this year. They could use help with both the books and stuffed animals. If any groups are interested, I could put you in touch. And we, of course, will continue to collect new and very gently used Holiday books for them now.
"Approximately 1900 Lighthouse Program students attend the PAL Christmas Village each Year in December. They tour the Christmas Village and see all the wonderful Christmas displays then meet Santa! That’s where they receive a gift. Students K-3 look forward to this event every year.
Unfortunately, since Covid things changed . We lost our big donors.
We used to give away really nice toys over $25,000 worth of games, barbies, cars, trucks, you name it we gave it away!! This year they will receive a stuffed animal and a book. "
