For Steve, his third myFace Adult Retreat was his favorite one yet.

Being surrounded by others in the craniofacial community who share similar experiences, while each having their own unique story to tell, made the weekend especially rewarding. It was a chance to connect, learn how others navigate life with a facial difference, and simply enjoy a warm, relaxing environment together.

Steve’s advice if you’re on the fence about attending next year? Go for it. You never know who you’ll meet or the connections you’ll make.

After nearly five months of planning, Katie Manning’s 100 Cleft Portraits Tour made its way to Chicago! 🎨

Presented by ACPA, the day began at Bernard Weinger JCC in Northbrook before heading downtown to Lurie Children’s Hospital. myFace Chicago Program Officer Rena Rosen was there throughout the day, connecting with families and community members as they experienced Katie’s powerful portraits and the stories behind them.

From families finding their own portraits on display to meaningful conversations, art activities, and a special portrait reveal for a nominated family, the day was a powerful reminder of what it means to feel truly seen and represented.

Nearly 70 people joined us throughout the day, bringing together families, advocates, providers, and members of the cleft and craniofacial community.

We’re grateful to Katie, ACPA, JCC Chicago, Lurie Children’s Hospital, and everyone who helped make the Chicago stop so meaningful. ❤️

For Franco, the myFace Adult Retreat is a space where he can be open, share his experiences, and connect with people who truly understand.

Now in his second year, some of his favorite moments have come from hearing others share freely, learning how they navigate similar situations, and then simply having fun together (though he’ll tell you the food is pretty great, too!).

His advice? Give the Adult Retreat a try at least once. He has a feeling you’ll want to come back. 💙

There’s nothing quite like seeing the joy a tinyFaces backpack can bring! 🎒💙

At the 100 Cleft Portraits Tour at CHOP in Philadelphia, myFace team members Justin, Jackie, and Dina had the pleasure of meeting Kiersten and her sweet daughter, Charlie. Soon after, Charlie received her very own tinyFaces backpack, filled with helpful resources and supplies as her family prepares for her upcoming palate surgery.

Kiersten shared, “To know we’re not alone on this journey and receive meaningful resources during this stressful time makes us feel empowered and so much more prepared.”

That’s what tinyFaces is all about: helping families feel supported, prepared, and connected to a community that understands their journey.

We’re so happy to welcome Kiersten, Charlie, and their family to the myFace community! 🩷
