Some of you may know that I run a domestic violence organization in our city where we support victims of domestic violence and their children. Each year we adopt a different domestic violence shelter in the city to create a glimpse of Hope for families that have been through the unthinkable.

Unfortunately this year due to lack of donations to toys for tots we were unable to receive our normal toy request for our shelter. So we are reaching out to our community for help. Our slogan is “It takes a village” lets me that village of support for these survivors of domestic violence. If you would like to donate newly unwrapped toys to our toy drive please inbox me I can do pick ups.

This year we put a twist on our event by adding a basketball tournament. We believe it is very important for our youth to join the fight against domestic violence. This year we also added Gun Violence to our fight because as we know domestic violence and gun violence go hand in hand with over 70 women being shot in killed by an intimate partner every month and 4.5 million women reported being threaten with a gun by an intimate partner we feel that it is always important to raise awareness of the empact gun violence has victims of domestic violence.
