At New York Edge Animation Studios, creativity is limitless! 🖌️

Last weekend, New York Edge Animation Studios set up a stop-motion and paper-puppet animation station at Maker Faire Coney Island 🎥

The crowds did not disappoint! We were so excited to share the magic and science of stop-motion animation with families, kids, and fellow STEM creatives. Check out these cool animations made during the faire ⬆️

Road trip 🚌 … to college tours! 🏫

This year, New York Edge students visited nine colleges and universities, gaining firsthand exposure to the many academic pathways available to them after high school graduation.

While each student brought their own interests and goals, they left sharing vision of themselves as future college students. From walking through classrooms and dining halls to hearing stories from current students, these visits made the idea of higher education both attainable and exciting.

Welcome back, New York Edge! 🏫🎒

This week, over 100 New York Edge sites across the 5 boroughs and on Long Island have opened their doors for the school year! 📚

Every year brings growth for students — a student too shy to pick up an instrument in October is performing on a stage in the spring. A kid who was quietly falling behind in math finds an adult patient enough to sit with him until it clicks. A girl who has never played on a team learns what it feels like to be counted on. THIS is the New York Edge impact. 💫

We can’t wait to see what this year brings! ⭐️

New York Edge nurtures each child’s gifts and talents so they can blossom 🌷

🎥 ABC7 takes us into the lives of Mia, a New York Edge student who discovered her gift for theatre, and her mother, Thalia, who has the ability to continue working after her daughter finishes school.

Thanks to New York Edge’s free afterschool programs, 35,000 students are enrolled in activities from soccer, dance, career readiness, cooking, animation, podcasting and more. Families are not only given the comfort of childcare, but know that their child is finding their passion. 💫

At New York Edge, afterschool is more than sports and arts. It’s a place for our students to grow as people and receive support that will help them throughout their life journeys.
