We are blessed with amazing people in QCCS - folks who dealt with LIE traffic amidst the LIRR strike, people who are recovering from surgery, or healing in other ways, students who are preparing for recitals and exams, faculty members who are grading those exams, families who sing together, folks who have sung with QCCS for 50+ years, and those who just experienced their first concert with us. We are so grateful for you all and so proud to have had another wonderful season. Thank you for all who joined us to hear Fauré's Requiem and the premiere of David Stern's "Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass". Thank you to the QC Orchestra, our soloists, and our inspiring conductor, James John. We hope to see you next season - on stage or in the audience -

Feeling grateful - So many people do so many things to get us ready for a concert. A lot happens behind the scenes, from parts being made (and reprinted) to cookies being baked, and risers set up, an organ moved, chairs situated, seating charts copied, and on and on. We are so grateful for every person's efforts and we hope that you will join us on Saturday May 16th. If you aren't going to be onstage, there is room in the audience; come be a part of the QCCS family - all are welcome. Fauré's Requiem is healing and uplifting and David Stern's Walt Whitman Cantata has never been performed before. It shimmers and reminds us all of our humanity and the joy of connection.
We hope to see you 8pm on Saturday in Colden Auditorium.

Concert week countdown.....
Reasons to buy tickets and come to this Saturday's concert (May 16th) (in no particular order)

1) you know and like someone who will be onstage (that includes the entire QCCS, the QC Orchestra, Treble Choir and Vocal Ensemble and three soloists AND a conductor, AND composer!)

2) You want to escape the news cycle, turn off your phone and be present for a while, but it's hard to do that on your own.

3) You choose to celebrate each moment, each day, and know that live music brings you joy.

4) A friend needs an adventure, so you want to take them out for dinner and a concert.

5) You love live music and know that it can inspire, heal, energize.

6) You have never been to a QCCS concert and wonder what it's like.

7) You think you might not like this type of music, but are willing to try something new (and be pleasantly surprised).

8) You heard there are baked goods for sale at intermission (there are - cash only).

9) You want to be a part of something - this concert includes a world premiere - music that has never been performed before, and this is it - the FIRST time!

10) You need a place to feel some things- let go of some grief (Requiems help comfort the living), or find some joy (Walt Whitman's poetry celebrates each atom, each person, all universes), or just experience hope of seeing so many people from different backgrounds come together in harmony.

Whatever the reason, we do hope you join us - tickets are still available https://kupferbergcenter.org/event/qccs-05162026/

AND - we want to support you being there, so if you have ticketing issues or need financial support, reach out - qcchoralsociety AT gmail.com
