Hello everyone! This month we are doing another well known one. Alex’s lemonade stand
—-
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) shares the vision of our founder and creator, Alexandra “Alex” Scott — a cure for all children with cancer.

The Mission

To change the lives of children with cancer through funding impactful research, raising awareness, supporting families, and empowering everyone to help cure childhood cancer.

When Alex, who was diagnosed with childhood cancer just before her first birthday, was four, she told her parents she wanted to set up a front-yard lemonade stand. Her plan: to give the money to doctors to help them find a cure. Her first “Alex’s Lemonade Stand”, held with the help of her older brother Patrick, raised an astonishing $2,000 in one day. While bravely fighting her own cancer, Alex continued to set up lemonade stands every year. As news spread of the remarkable girl so dedicated to helping other sick children, people everywhere were inspired to start their own lemonade stands—donating the proceeds to her cause.

In 2004 when Alex passed away at the age of eight—her stand and inspiration had raised more than $1 million towards finding a cure for the disease that took her life. Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation was started by her parents in 2005 to continue the work that Alex began. Our mission is simple: to change the lives of children with cancer through funding impactful research, raising awareness, supporting families, and empowering everyone to help cure childhood cancer!

Hello everyone! I hope everyone is doing well.
This months fundraiser is Project Semicolon.
As you might have noticed in the symbol for All One United, the semicolon means a lot to us here.
It is a symbol of strength, of continuing sentences that could have once ended.
———-

Impact of Your Gift to Project Semicolon

When you give to Project Semicolon, you’re not just donating to an organization—you’re helping to improve the lives of millions of people affected by mental illness and struggling with suicidal ideation.

How does my donation help?

-The development of a hotline to offer those in need 24/7 access to help.
-Educates more than 5 million people per year on prevention and recovery through, the media, and local communities
-Enlists the help of college administrators, Congress, and students on hundreds of campuses to implement programs that educate and prevent suicides.
-Improves mental health laws and policies to ensure that those who struggle are treated with dignity and offered the help they deserve.

Heyyo guys!

I know we are a little late on this months fundraiser but here it is!
This one is a well known establishment, a place for children with cancer to have another shot at life.

The Saint Jude Mission Statement:
"The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of our founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family's ability to pay."

Hey y’all! One of this months fundraisers is for the “All hands Volunteers”.
According to their site...
“On September 6, Hurricane Irma slammed into the US Virgin Islands as a category 5 hurricane. The islands suffered severe wind and flood damage, reducing many areas to rubble. In light of the almost absolute devastation in the USVI, All Hands Volunteers sent an Immediate Response Team to St. Thomas. CEO Erik Dyson said, “Unfortunately, we aren’t big enough to be everywhere at once. But our model is all about meeting the greatest need as best we can. Our help is needed in the islands, so that’s where we’ll be.” Less than a month later, the team was evacuated due to Hurricane Maria, which struck the islands on September 20 as a Category 4 storm. Today, we are back on the ground to finish what we started and our operations have expanded to both St. Thomas and St. John.

ALL HANDS VOLUNTEERS AT WORK

After being evacuated from USVI, due to the development and landfall of Hurricane Maria, All Hands Volunteers returned to the islands as soon as conditions allowed to continue the work they started.

Our teams noted that conditions had significantly deteriorated from those prior to the landfall of Maria. Most schools are damaged and families with means are trying to leave for the states so their kids can continue to go to school. People are stressed, exhausted and traumatized, but at the same time, full of appreciation and gratitude when they see us.

We’re still in the Response phase, undertaking mucking-and-gutting, debris removal, chainsawing, and sanitation, however, we have undertaken school rebuild projects. Our efforts have expanded to both St. Thomas and St. John, where our teams will focus on providing aid to homeowners and schools where needed.

RESULTS TO DATE
Volunteers: 664
Volunteer Hours: 50,985
Lives Touched: 5,490
Debris Removal sites: 271
Chainsaw sites: 148
Muck & Guts completed: 235
Sanitation: 40
Demo sites complete: 4
2 Schools completed”

Please join us in helping these volunteers work the best they can ❤️
