Freemasonry & Death

From the Epic of Gilgamesh to the philosophical reflections of Socrates and the tradition of memento mori, humanity has long wrestled with the certainty of death and the possibility of immortality. Across civilizations, death became not only something to fear or escape, but something to contemplate, prepare for, and understand.
The Art of Dying explores this ancient confrontation with mortality and considers how its myths, philosophies, and symbols find expression within Freemasonry and its teachings concerning time, immortality, and the unfinished work of human existence.
