International Self-Care Day is a reminder that caring for yourself isn't a luxury - it's an essential part of your well-being.

At , we believe self-care looks different for everyone. Whether it's reaching out for peer support, taking time to rest, connecting with your community, or prioritizing your mental health, every small step matters.

Today, we encourage you to pause, breathe, and choose one thing that nourishes your mind, body, or spirit. You deserve care, compassion, and support - not just today, but every day.

Together, we're building a community where healing is accessible, mental health is prioritized, and everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Disability Pride Month is a time to celebrate the strength, resilience, and contributions of the disability community while recognizing that disability is a natural and valuable part of human diversity.

At , we are proud to foster inclusive, peer-led spaces where people are empowered to be seen, heard, and supported. As we commemorate the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), we reaffirm our commitment to breaking down barriers, advancing accessibility, promoting mental health equity, and ensuring everyone has the opportunity to thrive with dignity and respect.
This month, and every month, we celebrate disability pride and continue working toward communities where inclusion isn't just encouraged, it's expected.

The following heartwarming story demonstrates the power of community to reduce loneliness, a concept we’ve been exploring at our Annual Symposium and one that remains at the heart of our mission and our services.

Four-year-old Roman was feeling the negative effects of his parents’ divorce and his father and grandparents moving out-of-state, but with one simple wave and a cheerful “hey,” he was able to create new bonds and build life-changing friendships with several of his neighbors: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/19FLRn6sbK/?mibextid=wwXIfr

At we remain committed to supporting our Peer workforce who play a major role in helping our participants navigate their wellness and recovery journey.

Recently we held a Town Hall meeting to keep Peers informed about the many benefits that are available to them – from healthcare plans to life insurance policies to our organization’s generous retirement package. We also discussed our Employee Recognition Program, which shines a spotlight on dedicated team members who exemplify our mission. To quote our incredible CEO, Ms. Taina B. Martinez, “For people showing up in ways that go beyond your daily job, we see you and we honor you.”

To all of our Peers, our goal is to support you, just as you support the many New Yorkers who rely on our services for housing, education, employment, and mental health support. We are here for you, as we strive to help you turn Peer jobs into Peer careers!

🚨 Last Call for Proposals! 🚨

Tomorrow, July 6, 2026, is the final day to submit proposals for Baltic Street Wellness Solutions’ 4th Annual Symposium:
“Roots of Recovery: Reclaiming Human Connection in the Age of A.I.”

As technology continues to reshape how we communicate, work, and care for one another, this year’s symposium will center on an important question: How do we preserve and strengthen authentic human connection in an increasingly digital world?

We are seeking dynamic, engaging, and thought-provoking proposals from Peer Specialists, advocates, practitioners, community leaders, and innovators who are exploring the intersection of peer support, recovery, lived experience, and emerging technologies.

We welcome sessions that uplift:
• Lived experience and peer support values
• Ethical considerations around A.I. and technology
• Community-centered approaches
• Creative practices that strengthen connection
• Strategies for maintaining authenticity, equity, and humanity in a changing field

Our symposium is more than a convening. It is a space for reflection, dialogue, and collective reimagining as we work together to ensure that recovery remains deeply rooted in human connection.

Submit your proposal by tomorrow, July 6, 2026, and add your voice to this important conversation.

🖤🤎❤️💛💚 July is BIPOC Mental Health Month.🖤🤎❤️💛💚

At Baltic Street Wellness Solutions, we proudly honor the strength, resilience, cultures, and lived experiences of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. Our work is rooted in community and in lived experience.

Our CEO, Ms. Taina Martinez, embodies this journey. As a Latina who came of age in East Harlem during the crack era of the 90s, she navigated systems and spaces not built for her, rising from those realities into the C-suite and boardrooms. Today, she leads with purpose, designing and launching programs that build bridges for others navigating the same BIPOC spaces that shaped her path. Her story is not separate from our mission; it is the foundation of it.

At Baltic Street, we believe healing is most powerful when it is led by peers, by people who have lived it, survived it, and are committed to walking alongside others. Our approach centers connection, cultural understanding, and the truth that mental health is deeply tied to identity, community, and access.

This month and every month, we reaffirm our commitment to creating spaces where people feel seen, heard, respected, and supported. We uplift peer-led support as a vital force in breaking stigma, restoring dignity, and building pathways to wellness.
To our community: thank you for trusting us, sharing your stories, and reminding us that healing is something we achieve together.

You belong. Your voice matters. Your story matters. Your mental health matters.

NYC is under an Extreme Heat Alert. Your health and safety come first.
At , we believe that caring for our communities means looking out for one another, especially during extreme weather.

If you or someone you know doesn't have access to air conditioning, take steps to stay safe:
💧 Drink water throughout the day
🏠 Stay indoors during the hottest hours when possible
🧊 Find a nearby NYC Cooling Center or other air-conditioned space
❤️ Check in on older adults, neighbors, and anyone who may be especially vulnerable

NYC offers a live Cooling Center Finder to help you locate the nearest safe place to cool down. Before visiting, be sure to check hours, as locations may vary during heat emergencies. You can also call 311 for assistance.
Together, we can protect one another and build healthier, more resilient communities. Learn more and find a cooling center near you at finder.nyc.gov/coolingcenters.

Baltic Street Wellness Solutions is committed to empowering individuals through peer-led support, advocacy, and community care.
