“While I will ALWAYS be on this journey, I am very fortunate to be cancer-free today!” Jules Stemp, a**l cancer thriver.

As any survivor knows, it's always a little bit there in the back of your mind, it's “there" with the check-ups and appointments. It’s “there” with every lifestyle choice I make.

But it's also "there" as a reminder to go out and live my BEST life each day.

It's "there" when I need to remember not to sweat the small stuff. It's "there" when I think how grateful I am to have a wonderful support system, and it's “there" when I share my story in the hopes of helping others, whether it's cancer awareness, early detection, research or survivorship.

I share because of the immense appreciation I have for those survivors that shared with me during their journeys. So, thank you for checking in. And I'll keep doing the same with as many people as I can.

In fact, let's all check in and check on those in our life; family, friends, neighbours, co-workers, and maybe that will be a little reminder that none of us is ever alone.

Over 500 people registered for the ACF Patient Summit last Saturday. We were honored to be able to support the community with a packed program to help them.

Since the passing of her mum of a**l cancer Justine Almada, Executive Director and Co-Founder has dedicated her life to ending this disease and supporting patients. She was delighted to be able to host the event alongside David Winterflood, CEO, ACF.

Could a blood test spot a**l cancer returning earlier?

New research from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, presented at ASTRO 2026, found that people with tumour DNA still in their blood after chemoradiation were at much higher risk of their cancer coming back.

A new clinical trial is now being planned to see if acting on this early can improve outcomes.

"Early February: cancer all clear!"

Dave's last 18 months have included sepsis, emergency surgery, a stoma, 28 rounds of radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

It's been tough, but he got through it, with his sense of humour and his partner firmly by his side.
